I felt like I was intruding a little, but then I was the only one that could actually deal with the banshees in the end. Vorcha Sentinal with a Claymore and Warp Ammo = win!
We managed a partial extraction, despite some hiccups

And in general, had great success playing with randoms, won 6 gold reaper matches today in a row. But I take my time when setting up lobby, I make sure everyone has decent gear and that classes synergize well.
Don't just start a lobby, wait for it to fill up with whomever and start the game. Never works out very well.
EDIT: btw actual N7 level doesnt mean s***, a guy could just read up character builds/tips on forums and build it well from the start, then there would be no reason for promotions. I know a guy who stayed N7 150 since March and is really good at the game and has decent gear.

As mentioned above, a player with a high N7 score but runs off to be "Rambo" is less useful to someone who works with and contribute to the team.
My own N7 rank is in the 3000++ range, so yeah, it is a pretty hollow rank and doesn't really indicate a person's skill. Just how much a person has been promoting characters.

Went to sleep, then got on when most of the Russians were playing (judging from their voices), and that usually means bad lag for me cause if the host is in Europe (including Russia) for me my connection to them is like a frigging black hole in terms of suction!
It doesn't help when it looks like I'm the one carrying the team when there are two asari adepts in the team (me on a krogan sentinel). Had to solo wave eight, not entirely sure why no one revived or rezzed. Had to waste three Cobras killing four banshees (got two with one) (Yes I don't normally touch my cobras till wave 7 normally on gold when the banshees are spawning like crazy). Everyone is back on top for wave 9 and 10, I'm thinking maybe we might make it. Then on the extraction wave get cornered by two banshees with me trying backing off and wondering why I couldn't move, I get instant killed, dead I noticed it was one of the Asari stood behind me not allowing me to move, I was like ARGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH! Asari gets incapped by the one behind, revives and gets instant killed because they revive immediately with two banshees on top of him/her. If you think that was a head butting moment wait till you hear what happens next. With twenty seconds to go, Asari 2 gets taken out by another banshee. And the somewhat impressive (not) Vorcha who used all his cobras on wave 3 tries to run past a brute to the extraction point with a ravager shooting at it! He gets killed and considering he's used all his consumables by wave 4, there was no chance for him! If I wasn't bald already I was gonna be. No point me screaming down the mic!
Just let out a huge sigh and try again!

Edit: Just did a gold on Firebase White, PUG, 2 asari adepts (me +pug), 1 Drell adept, and 1 MQI. We got a full extraction. Biotic explosions rock.

I've also noticed that the banshee's seem to be grabbing you from further away than usual.... admittedly I don't play Reaper gold that often but I've had situations where I've been 5 or 6 strides running away from them and they've pulled me back

I think I've seen it all today:
Krogans headbutting Banshees
Adepts playing with sniper rifles and not using any of their abilities
Nobody using medigel or rockets
People running off on their own to die on the other side of the map
People playing soldiers (lol)
The bugs and cheap mechanics in this game didn't make it any better: banshees grabbing you over half the map, getting stunlocked to death and abilities simply not working.
Now excuse me while I go cry in a corner to somehow process this terrible experience.

I was doing it yesterday on a duration FQI - made it so much easier for my team-mates to survive, when they only had 2/3 of the mobs coming for them, instead of all of them.

On the last two. One died at wave 3 because game jumped me right inside the game without letting me fill my mod slots and some players using subpar weapons. And the other one only 2 people used the mods, me and another player, and died at wave 8, too much to handle.

15 random PUGs
1 dead wave 3 - Firebase Reactor...Yes, wave 3, what the hell happened you ask? Beginning of round, it's a pizza delivery and I got sync-killed by a Banshee that I literally was around the corner hiding from...I think it literally pulled me around the corner (you know that little sidewats room before you turn the corner from the left side of the LZ). Team collapsed soon after for various reasons.
1 dead wave 8 - Firebase Condor Toughest map in the game and I actually was down to 2 ammo clips on Wave 8...Gold reaper + harrier I + condor = no ammo in the worst places (good thing I carry a GPSMG with ultralight mod)
2 dead on wave 9 - Firebase Dagger (nothing special...just got overwhelmed), Firebase White (I'm stunned we actually reached this far during the game...Had a krogan sentinel who constantly tried to melee 2 Banshees?!?!?!?!...)
1 dead on wave 10 - So close but so far...Would you believe all 4 of us got sync kill? You're not? But have you ever seen an entire team sync killed by a Brute??? I swear, the same damn brute picked up each one of us and slammed us around....We actually laughed about this one....Probably went back in and got partial on Ghost...
1 Lone survivor (me) - Ghost
1 (nobody in circle but 2 people still on their feet - Does this count as an extraction?) - Hydra
4 Full extractions - 2 Giant, 1 White, 1 Jade
3 Partial extraction - 2 Giant, Ghost
No game took longer than 25 minutes either....Best gold runs I've had in a long while...
Dagger and Giant are your best bets and make sure everybody has warp ammo.... [/quote]
