More weight tradeoffs?  That would mean new tools favoring classes like Infiltrators more than other classes.

It depends. For example, penetration mods might give damage AND AP penetration at a 25% weight penalty, for most weapons, that is doable. Claymore maybe not so...

It's not a question of doable, it's a question of who benefits most.

Soldiers with low CD powers like Marksman and AR could benefit immensely. So take T.Soldier right now with Claymore and weapon damage passive maxed out, has 71% CD. Let's say Penetration Mod V gives a 30% CD penalty, Marksman would still have a very low CD overall but you would hit a lot harder.

Shepard wears any damn armor he/she pleases, as any N7 operative Spectre does.

Fix'd.

Hollywood has kind of killed what "spec-ops" really means. The reason the spec-ops teams are so freaking good at their jobs is because they're an elite military unit with the best training, best leaders and best equipment. They have strict procedures, protocol, equipment, etc. They aren't a band of ragtag mercenaries who wear what they want and do what they want how they want.

Shepard gets those privelages because (s)he's a Spectre. Remember how it was on the Normandy before the whole becoming a Spectre thing? How the rank and vocation meant something in the chain of command?

Anyway, it's a minor issue. Just bugs me how spec-ops are perceived by the majority of the gaming community, because of games.

It's not even just Hollywood, The Things They Carried also has operators with a very loose leash.

Because that's the most likely and least generalized observation to make, instead of, say, Gamespot reviewers need more practice.

No it's Horrible.

It is pretty bad.

Actually the gun is pretty good if you don't plan on using it as your prime source for damage, where the limited damage isn't half the concern at it's higher rate of fire than other shotguns comes in very handy.

To me, it like usin a toy. A fast shooting pea shooter. Hate that gun.

That's because you suck with it. I often come in first or second with it (mostly first). You can't do that with a crap gun. I'd put my scimitar kroguard against any kroguard rocking a reegar or claymore and come out on top more often than not.

Destroyer's lack of Cooldowns makes them the Soldier class I've always wanted, a Soldier shouldn't need to care about cooldowns!

LOL at people making judgements based off of bad players playing on Gold.  Wait until you actually get your hands on the stuff before coming to any conclusions.

The weapons look really bad for anything above Bronze. Why is it that we either get rather useless weapons like Striker and Geth SMG (yes, they CAN be played with, doesn't mean they are acutally good) or overpowered noob b/s like Krysae and Reegar. The only really good new weapon was the Harrier so far. I appreciate the effort on making new stuff, but why don't make it good (meaning useful for all difficulties but not OP and fun to use).

Also while I like that we can actually see some footage Bioware might be better off posting their own gameplay videos because those players in the videos are really horrible and not the best demonstration to maybe attract a few new players who hear about the DLC and decide to check it out but not so much involved into ME. From a marketing perspective I would have a NDA for external sites until the DLC hits and instead providing my own informations, pictures and videos.

I don't know man, the pistol looks terrible but the Shotgun and LGM look good in the right hands. I imagine the Turian Soldier could be really good with both. I know you don't like shotguns in general but the Piranha in particular seems very good.

Wow, the Typhoon seems to be even worse than the Revenant.

I find charge weapons like the pistol to be very meh, so that leaves the shotgun, which looks okay. I guess.

For the LMG, how about having a slow rate of fire with medium/high damage and manageable recoil and accuracy?

Because I hate when I have to shove my weapons up the enemies' noses for them to be effective when they're not shotguns.

The Typhoon increases its ROF the longer you hit the trigger, will have to wait for the damage but if it is good will be very good on T Soldier.

Yeah, and utterly useless for any other class, since the recoil will make the bullets hit everything but the enemies unless you're right next to them.

Didn't they learn anything from the Hurricane?

Striker and Kishock aren't useless, neither is the GSMG.

I use the first two on Gold all the time (Striker on Krogan Soldier and Kishock on Batarians). GSMG is good for what it is (weight).

I have just one complaint. The Paladin Sentinel has NO biotic powers, unless that Snap Freeze is not a tech animation. Seriously. Why couldn't we be given Warp instead of Incinerate? A Sentinel is supposed to have biotics. So...where is it?

That's a major disappointment for me.

Everything else is stellar, but the Sentinel is becoming a Soldier or Engineer...

Thats not true. In this same DLC they are adding new combo weapon modifications such as heavy barrels that give you both Bonus Damage and Penetration in a single mod at the cost increasing the weapons weight. If you put that heavy barrel on this new LMG or the Reverant for that matter you still have 1 mod slot left over to attach something like the AR stability attachment, which at lvl V, decreases recoil by 70%.

So... is the Typhoon another Turian Soldier weapon? cause it seems like you need a hell lot of recoil reduction with that one.

Paladin looked underwhelming. Inability to move with the shield is awkward. I imagined myself as a Guardian who is actually capable of killing anything, now I just see an engineer with an ability to stand still and do little (in a game where mobility is the key to survuval).

I'm wondering why Mike doesn't answer the question about the rarity of the new guns, but only talks about the characters being rare.

Hint to two new URs or - given the naming - even two new promotional weapons?

I tend to agree from what I've seen. Though the shotgun doesn't seem to do too much damage, I hope that this is compensated by the mag size and RoF.

I agree. Really like my sentinels to be able to synergize with both biotics and tech. At least he has the flexibility and durability I would want from that class. He can be a tank because of ED and the shield, and has tools against all kinds of defence. Not as exciting and new as the other characters, but I think he could be very good.

Well, the GSMG weighs nothing but also does nothing to enemies - it's utterly useless (on gold). The Kishock was good before they nerfed it (for no reason imo). The Striker is OK I guess, but it too is vastly outclasses by other weapons. There is little point to use any of em right now unless you're determined and don't mind the significant drop in combat proficiency.

The only thing they did to the Kishock was remove its ability to deal headshot damage to Brutes, Banshees and Ravagers, which are units that aren't supposed to be affected by headshot damage at all, especially the Banshee. It was never nerfed otherwise, and against most other units its still as powerful as ever.
