I use the first two on Gold all the time (Striker on Krogan Soldier and Kishock on Batarians). GSMG is good for what it is (weight).


The shuriken is usable on soldiers with level 4 equipment hurr durr

Useable =/= good.

He wasn't. He was clearly saying that everything coming out will be Rare/Gold card. People hear what they want to hear though.

Striker makes Phantoms useless, plus it'll chew through groups of peons. If you apply Cyro, it's too easy. The hardest part of it is controlling the fire at "long range" (putting rounds on target). It's not that good against hard targets though (Banshees and Atlases). If I'm playing against Cerberus, it's better than the Harrier (Phantoms...).

Kishock is awesome when you use it in addition to Powers that stagger. Stun some enemies then hit the most powerful in the head without using the scope; it's surprisingly easy to use up close. Think of it as a Claymore without spread that can also be used at long range (boss level stuff is easy to hit at long range).

The Destroyer and Slayer look immense. We finally got a phantom! Sort of.

Paladin looks certainly like the most "tactical" character. I mean one Paladin in front of the group drawing all the fire at him while the rest has an easy time picking of all the targets.
Not sure how much the shield can withstand though (one Prime plasma shot? two? three? "endless" defense power?) .

And as excited as it sounds to play a "Phantom", the new Infiltrator seems definately the worst to me. Not sure if ya get some invisibility frame during the animation of that crazy "jump+'shockwave' " skill but if not it'll ****** people of. In the end it depends on the damage output but I guess that the effect will be rather similiar to the Phoenix lach attack...not too bad I guess HOWEVER for a class like the infiltrator it's pretty useless. In addition it seems to be a "tech" abbility so also no possibility for some bio explosions and tech bursts are nice but the worser end of the bargain.
Shadow Strike could be very nice depending on the max power you can deal with it. With the extra bonus power from TC, you could virtually stay undetected for the majority of the match and truly like a shadow "shadow strike" kill the enemy lines...
with that being said I strongly doubt that this "melee" strategy can work on anything higher than silver. Shadow strike teleports you right into the enemy lines and melee build are in general very fragile and pretty useless against any boss enemy despite phantoms.
I just feel like it'll be the "go to die" class most of the time.

The Fury looks, optically, absolutaly fantastic. Nearly like a "cyborg-Quarian" IMO.
Skills also look fantastic and it looks like it'll be a great alternative to the AA. Dark channel + throw seems to be a fantastic biotix explosions combo. Both have awesome dodge mechanics and it looks like the teleport stuff even works through walls? Not sure what this "dark biotic fieldt thingy" does but I guess it'll really depend if you go all out for bioplosions or if you want to have a Stasis in your backpack.
Other than that the class looks really fairly balanced even with the small informations we got so far.

Slayer is really very tough to tell for me. It certainly won't be a "tank" Vanguard, he seems to have usual human health (500/500) and his "jump-wave" skill seems to be as well very like slash from the phoenix just with another name+animation. The third skill looks like sort of like a "biotic punch" skill. A bit like throw though probably more powerful but without stagger effect. Heavy mellee looks awesome but it seems not to work properly against moving enemies and the animation also tooks close to a second which is IMO too long.
Looks for me like a class that can only work in combination with other biotics or it'll just be another "spam slash" character.

From all the new characters the Vanguard has some of the coolest animations but despite of this the effect of his skills seem to be very like already known skills. Looks to me like he'll be no match for Novaguard or Kroguard players. Probably on par with the Phoenix.

Lets round this up:
Adept class will be very liked and used a lot due to the similarities to the AA but probably higher bioplosion damage output.

Sentinel will be THE teamplayer class and hardly ever truly useful on pub matches or anything lower gold since you don't really need a "pure" defense wall on bronze or silver. New skill + energy drain will be maxed out, incinerate will be ignored 9/10 times.

Soldier certainly looks the most unique and I can't wait to try him out. He'll definately be a total attack monster and if grenade capacity works for the muti frags I can already see the countless "nerf multi frags" threads. Will definately be used a lot and it's yet to see if he's that good. Mobility, health/shields will play a major role in the usefullness. Low mobility (no roll) + rather low health (turian style or lower) would make him an extremely hard to use character no matter of the offense power. I smell a lot of deaths

"Phantom" class will be sooooo frustrating. People will love due to the "coolness" of it but I'm so positive will not really know how to use it properly. All melee builds are hard to use properly and even on gold past wave 6, they're close to useless. People shadow striking banshees and dying in a heartbeat...hurray. It'll be a fun to use class but not very effective for gold or platin. For that it SEEMS to lack any potential weapon buff or enemy debuff skills.

I doubt that the Vanguard will find too much love and people will quickly move on. His movement is a lot like Adept/Infiltrator, he has cool heavy melee but for a Vanguard it's a rather useless skill, his bio skills seem to be a lot like Throw and Lash and he seems to be made of glass like all regular humans. IMO a class that can only truly work effectively with other casters and not a "one man army point machine" = uninteresting for pub matches.

haven't seen the engineer yet.

The "biotic punch" for the Slayer is a palm cannon, kind of like the Phantom's and it uses part of your barrier.

I never got the Kishock hate. The only problem I have with it is the scope. I always use it instead of a Widow, unless I'm not host.

So does anyone know if the Paladin's omni shield is something we can actually put points into? I remember reading some where that if you spec it for incendiary or cryo it'll add that effect to the omni shield.

You toggle it with heavy melee.

Probably gets added to one of the passives like Turian Stability or Krogan Rage.

There is a difference between answering a question from a customer, especially precising the fact that it would not be this hard to unlock then, and calling the new Sentinel a "Vanguard" because he was speaking fast, and just presented the new Vanguard before.
