How is distaste for two fictional characters equal to a general distaste in women?

The adorable thing is you think you genuinely deserve an explanation.

Well I just saw it a couple of hours ago and it's amazing. If you haven't seen it yet I highly advise you correct your mistake and go watch it. Now.

The soundtrack, the actors, the fight scenes; they're all great.

And that chant is stuck in my head now.

Bane as the prime antagonist would've sufficed and for a Batman film, there wasn't enough to call it Batman

Nolan's Batman movies have always been about Bruce Wayne first and foremost and how he deals with his Batman persona.

Loved the movie, but for me personally i
really really missed Joker, it had an awesome feeling tho, but not
quite as when the Joker was in it.

Its a shame Heath died, as having him around in a No Man's Land type Gotham that Bane created would have been amazing.  The Crane cameo was great though.

Saw this on another site and thought it would have been funny to see and explain away why there wasn't any Joker in TDKR without even necessarily needing Heath. They could have maybe used some CG or a double and cleverly shoot it, like they did with the young Ra's al Ghul:

^ I wonder how they would have worked him in if he were alive? Would Bane be in the 3rd movie at all?

Well, having seen it at midnight, I am looking forward to going to see it again, maybe (hopefully) in imax ^.^

Ok so out of all three, I liked this one the most, but I want to go watch the other two again just to make sure. Christopher Nolan is really growing as a director, and I hope he gets even better. He actually seems like he is getting some Scorsese perks, because he is getting the actors he wants in his films. The themes he addresses in his films are pretty ambitous, but for the most part he handles them pretty well. Like some other posters have stated, I too wish rises was a little tighter though. Part of the reason why I think I like the batman films over the avengers is because the batman films actually have solid, gasp, intelligent content, whereas with the avengers it was just like splosions! cgi! lol No complaints with the omission of the Joker.

I was never worried about Anne Hathaway being cast as catwoman because I know she is a good actress, and I was not disappointed at all with her performance. I really liked Bane as a villain, and Tom Hardy got pretty big for his role.

Overall, I was very satisfied with this movie, a personal 4 out of 4. Its a shame that this is Nolan's last batman film because I think if he got a tighter script, maybe a plot where the whole city was not in danger, but somebody the audience has grown to like, and its handled well, it could be even better then the whole city/world/galaxy is in danger again. For instance, Robin is already established for the next film, Johnny Depp could be the Riddler, the years are taking their toll on Batman, but his wit, which he will have to use against the Riddler, is still as sharp as ever would have made for a very good film. Like, Scorsese has some of the best 3rd acts in his films, I would like to see Nolan get as good as that :)

After thinking about it, I addressed one of my major criticisms. I previously said that Bane leading a revolution and wanting to destroy Gotham anyways are two contradictory goals and that Bane was only doing all this out of sadism.

But the way I understood the League of Shadows is that it seeks to destroy Gotham not for its own sake only, but to strike fear in the rest of the world and make them see where this chaos and corruption leads. That's why Ra's al Ghul wanted Gotham to tear itself apart.
Bane just detonating a nuke would be blamed on terrorists and not on the inherent fragility and corruption of the system. What better way to show that other than leading a revolution against the 1% and freeing all the criminals that were locked up based on a lie, spreading chaos in the process? Furthermore, Bane officially gave the detonator to a citizen. Bane's plan would show the world how ****ed up Gotham is, or at least how fragile it is and any semblance of peace it had was based on a lie.

Now it's still problematic that Bane doesn't explain this more clearly, and there are still problems in the movie particularly the endgame. But this interpretation greatly reduces the doubt I had towards Bane despite always seeing him as awesome. Now however, I am tempted to say I like him more than the Joker. But I probably need to watch both movies again back to back to determine who I like more.

It was a good, but very predictable movie plot-wise. Catwoman was disappointing, and Bane lacked true viciousness, but it was still good enough to keep you interested.

I don't quite understand the plot though. I've played Batman Arkham City and Talia was Batman's wife. And Miranda revealed that she is the daughter of Talia.

So Batman sleeps with his daughter?

What game did you play? Talia never married anyone, and had Bruce's son in secret. Ra's always wanted them to be together but Bruce would have to become head of the league of assassins, which he always refused. So Bane was used to fill that role.

Wow. WHAT!?

Talia(in Arkham City) is Batman's girlfriend. Definitely not wife. And as far as Arkham City goes, they did not have a child.

As far as The Dark Knight Rises goes, Miranda Tate is just a facade that Talia put up to get close to Bruce Wayne and Batman.

You have to understand, Talia Al Ghul is depicted as sort of an anti-hero, villain, and hero depending on the story.

You got it all twisted.

I may have misterpreted as per Arkham City but i read somewhere Talia is Batman's wife? I'm not really sure on Batman's lore though.

@eroeru
In the Dark Knight rises during ending are you sure Miranda did not reveal she is the daughter of Talia? And it also interpreted that her mother was raped.

Hmm well maybe i was misinterpeted though. Perhaps gonna have to rewatch. Hmm.

Miranda Tate IS Talia Al Ghul.

Miranda Tate is just a fake name for her. An alias.

Ra's Al Ghul was the guy who had a child with the warlord's daughter.

Talia is Ra's daughter. Talia is the warlord's granddaughter.

Talia was the one who escaped the prison without the rope.

I do know Miranda is the one who escaped. So how did Batman survived the nuclear blast?

We actually don't know that really because she did say they had sex in Metropolis.

Just got back home from watching this last night with friends. Holy f*ck was it amazing, was glued to the screen for the entire 2 hrs and 45 mins. I wasn't really sure about Nolan's concept of Bane being intelligent and having that accent but I think it paid off in the end, having the original Bane who physically grows twice in size just wouldn't look good compared to the rest of the movie, keeping 'realistic', or as realistic as it can be, really paid off in the end in my opinion. I heard a lot of stuff about Anne Hathaway not being a very good Catwoman but I thought she played the role quite well considering the small amount of time she got.

[SPOILER ALERT] Only little peeve I have is Bane's mask; I know why he wears it of course but the movie never really explained it for itself. We get told from Bane at the start "It would be extremely painful" if it's taken off and that he got it when receiving his injuries helping Talia escape (great little twist with Talia's reveal as well). I think just a minute explaining why he has to wear it specifically would have worked wonders for it. [END SPOILERS]

Best movie I've seen this year by far, and a very satisfying conclusion to the story. God damn I want to watch that fight scene with Bane and his army vs Batman and the police all over again.

I just hope they don't make a Robin-only movie. I don't think Robin will be able to hold his own if featured in his own movie.

The Bane is Arkham City was huge.. The Bane in Dark Knight Rises was kinda mini.. And saw some real photos.. The actual Bane .. Tom Hardy is shorter than Christian Bale. Correct me if i'm wrong. Here's the pic: http://www.imdb.com/...29568/nm0362766

In the game she did not have his son. However it is cannon that she has Bruce's son, Damian Wayne. It was a last stitch effort to get Bruce to enlist himself into The Leage of Assassins.

That being said, Bruce has never been in a "relationship" with Talia. She's in love with him through the admiration of her father, and Bruce merely wants her to be free from Ra's' influence. The only women he's been involved with on a relationship level are Selina Kyle, Vesper Fairchild, Vicki Vale, and Wonder Woman. All of the other women were flings or obsessive crushes like Barbra when she first became Batgirl.

Bane in arkham asylum and city is pathetic. Nolan's Bane is physically and mentally intimidating, looks awesome, talks awesome and is a leader to boot. Tom Hardy did an excellent job.

Wow seems like Batman was kinda like Playboy lol

Edit
I think the Bane in Arkham City was done right. He's supposed to be oversized huge and muscular though. At least most of the images i googled shows he supposed to be huge, oversized and muscular.
