Vigil solves the problem of Soverign and Saren getting complete control of the station.

Vigil does not deny access of the Citadel from Sovereign. Vigil itself says to you that his file is only temporary and does not stop Sovereign from from anything.

However without it, Shepard loses, plain and simple.

That does not make it the sole proprietor to Sovereign's downfall, only a contributor.

Congratulations, you've just undermined your own point.

Nope, you missed the point.

Once again, a DEM does not have to solve the main problem.

In this case is solves a problem to another problem.

Vigal and the data file solves the problem.
Star child doesn't. The choices are not his and they still don't solve any thing, they add more to the problem.

But it's not contrived. It doesn't "feel" wrong.

GlowBoy does solve a problem. His problem, which thanks to the writers, is now our problem. They are his choices, otherwise he wouldn't present them.

Don't even bother. That argument undermines the intelligence of all its participants.

The very fact that once it's putinto the system, sovergin has no way to start the invasion is the reason why. Even if its temporary, It's stops the invasion.

It is the reason for his downfall. With out it, Sovergin would of succeeded. What would stop him if it was not introduced into the system?

But file by itself is not solving anything. It's a combination of events that leads to Sovereign's downfall.

It cannot be a deus ex machina.

No, husk-Saren dying was the reason Sovereign met his downfall. If it weren't for Saren being taken over by Sovereign, Sovereign would have retaken control of the Citadel and called the Reapers in.

My point is that it's a delay, not a permanent solution, which you're painting it as.

You just undermined your own point.

It's fun watching a circular argument!

Ventus: "Grrr, no u!"

Everyone else: "Grrr, no u!"

And just keep that up until the end of time, this thread in a nutshell.

Pretty much. Where are moderators when you need them, huh? They're totally in flame mode right now, I think they're completely oblivious to their surroundings.

We need a thread simulator for the BSN, that'd be good for a LOL and loss in faith for humanity.

I wonder why Soverign takes over Saren......maybe because Shepard used the DEM device to gain control of the station and Soverign attempts to win it back....

Which means the DEM is in play, leading to Soverign's downfall.

Anyone know a good voice modulator or reader program that can do different pitches? I think I could make a thread sim with enough patience.

You're probably right. They're too entertained by this nonsense to want to end it. They've been going at it all night these guys.

It's funny because the both of you have no idea what the classification of a DEM is in literature, as you are only applying it to one situation.

By the logic you two are using, every plot device ever in every single story ever written uses a DEM.

Please, just stop while you are both somewhat ahead.

Its not a circular argument...we are trying to get it through your heads that the device in ME1 IS BY DEFINITION a DEM. You keep ignoring the fact I have posed multiple times.

Except, it really isn't.

In fact nothing in the ME universe is a DEM, by definition.

If that's the case, everything in a narrative ever is a DEM.

Since it seems there won't be a conclusion to this argument, I'll say this:

Whether Vigil is a DEM or not(he's not), Vigil does not derail the narrative consistency of ME1.

Pointless thread is pointless. I was hoping this would shut everyone up, but I guess not. At this point it needs to die or be locked down, it's become nothing more than an immature flame war.

Remember this? Probably not, because you're too busy with your heated and stupid argument.
