Maybe go 64646? 6 in SS, TC, and Fitness for full melee power, and 4 is really all you need in the passive to get extra weight capacity. I bet ES has the same problems Smash did at Rebellion's launch (the range), but why not put 4 points in?

Yeah, I mixed them up, I believe the Fury and the Slayer can.

If that is true,we could spec tactical cloak with bonus power and melee damage,so that shadow strike can be casted while invisible and gets more dmg from the cloak melee dmg amplifier

Why go 6 in TC? You're speccing it for Melee Damage, you really don't need that Sniper Damage unless you're using a Sniper, obviously. And Rank 5 of Passive is another Power Damage, for electric Slash. Then you can just put 3 in ES.

You dont need Bonus Power to use Shadow Strike, thats why you can shoot out a Proxy Mine and shoot your gun.

Can you shadow strike from Cloak?

Yes,and with bonus power+cloaked melee damage it's gonna do tons of damage while remaining invisible

I love melee, and basically only melee with gunning situational.  A melee character would be awesome. :) I look forward to the melee builds when people unlock the character.

Yes, but it would allow you to cloak, use SS strike, and then remain cloaked, so that you could do a melee attack, shoot someone, do another SS, or get away if there aare too many enemies around your target you just killed.

Use shadow strike. Remain cloaked. Follow up with a "regular" heavy melee that is boosted by cloak. Even plantinum phantoms could be dead...

If we're melee, and we don't take Rank 6 in TC, does this mean if we fire a skill and then melee that only the skill receives the damage buff? That was my understanding, which is why my GI melee build was 6/6/6/0/6, so I could fire a PM and then Heavy Melee received the damage buff. Or, would 5/6/6/3/6 have been the same as far as PM > Heavy melee damage?

Damage bonus applies for ~2 seconds after the decloaking action for anything. This is part of why Bonus Power is almost completely superfluous.
By the looks of it I'd assume Electic Slash and Shadow Strike are lengthly enough that you might not get much damage bonus from guns/melee afterwards, but the skill itself should get full benefits.

While shadow strike looks like it will be the bread and butter for this build,I have a feeling slash will be great for staggering multiple enemies to buy yourself a couple seconds. Probably best to go 6/6/4/4/6.

I think people are envisioning this class to be a walk in the park, but I have a feeling that many will wipe with this on both Gold and Platinum. It will take skill to be good with it.

Good point, and that's what makes it interesting.  The GI melee build was an anomaly, and a true glass canon. It has a very steep learning curve.  In some videos, Stardusk, you rightly point out that melee on gold is very situational.  I hope in this character's case melee is viable on gold and platinum.  It's fine to wipe if the ultimate goal, a melee gamestyle, is possible.  It isn't fine to wipe when the ultimate goal of a melee gamestyle isn't possible.

RE: The videos -- Those were only bronze?  That doesn't give me much hope.  Melee will kill a lot of things on bronze and even silver, but at gold?  It doesn't work very well.  I'll temper my optimism here and see what happens, especially since Eric himself told me BW thinks strong melee would make a character OP on bronze and silver if it were viable on gold.

@Edalborez -- Thank you!  I didn't know this. :)

You can get more melee damage bonuses than power damage bonuses :)

All of the Fitness ones, +50% from new weapon mods, +50% from TC Evo 3, +40% (For me at least) from TC extra damage. Wow.

Yes, Shadow Strike can do a ton of damage.

How much is a 'tonne' of damage?

I'm thinking Gold and Platinum here, mainly, fighting phantoms & other heavily armed troops.

I think that with all of the bonuses(gear, consumables, ranks in skills, weapon mods) on Gold, you should be able to take out second tier troops(Centurians, Guardians, Maruaders, Rocket Troopers) in one hit. It might also be ablt to take out Phantoms, Pyros, and Hunters. Or, I may be giving it too much credit. But I'm betting at least being able to one shot centurians and Maruaders.

Shadow strike looks pretty meh. Aoe dmg >>>> single target unless it does ridiculous dmg like a claymore. If shadow is going to be competitive with GI/SI/MQI I think its going to come down to how effective electric slash is imo.

We know that Shadow Strike counts as melee so there is a lot of potential in it. On Gold will be very good. I can't comment on Platinum obviously.

Carry an Eviscerator X and go with bonus power. SS gets both the melee damage evo and bonus damage from TC.

Yup, she is going to be overpowered.

Stack melee, cloak time bonus, bonus power to remain cloak after shadow strike....

Hell they even give you a worse version of shockwave so you don't even have to bother specing in that.

To me it looks like tech Smash that have lower range and a longer animation.

Unless you couple Shadow Strike with TC's bonus power evolution, since then you can use your high damaging weapon right after the slash.

Actually I swear it has a longer reach..........I'm gonna 6/6/6/0/6 cause power damage only useful on ES and thus waste and I will almost never use my weapon, this is assuming of course ES has worthwhile evolutions at 4,5 and 6..... Posted Image
