Man. See, my team is probably a bad choice. Garrus and Jack, and I brought the missile launcher which is just not strong like it probably would be on lower difficulty. I think that if I kill Jedore first then it will trigger a cutscene, but haven't been able to do it what with Jedore spewing missiles, the YMIR keeping me paralyzed with fear, and those flanking Krogan.

Is it doable, or start the mission over with a different team? I installed Zaeed from the Cerebus Network promo and nothing else from that pack. This is a situation that calls for Cain if it works as the description says, but I've never seen it fire, ever.

What would you do in this situation, would you restart the mission with different options?

If you can take out Jedore first, the krogans stop spawning, which makes dealing with that YMIR SOOO much easier. For team mates, Jack was probably not the best decision, but i bet you can get past it... eventually. If not, i recomend taking Miranda in Jack's place, Overload and Warp help quite a bit more than Shockwave and Pull, with all of those shields and armors that every enemy has. Imo, this is one of the hardest fights on insanity, next to the end of Horizon and collector base.

Couln't get Jedore first. I tried throwing cabbage but Jedore eated it. Actually, there were some things I didn't realize that turned this into an easy but tedious battle:

1. The YMIR can't get into the room ( outside, with stairs )
2. Krogan can get inside, but there's an invisible wall they can't pass
3. Krogan aren't infinite spawns like I thought they were
4. Krogan don't seem to use much missiles against me, only my allies

So, I stationed Garrus and Jack far up the stairs completely out of harm's way. Letting the Krogan's come out of the arena to our area, Stripped Krogan armor while hiding behind the stair pillar. Next, throw pushed it far back into the arena. While the unarmored Krogan was busy lying on the floor there was a nice window to use two overloads on the mech. Still pushing the Krogans back with throw, used the window to work the mech's armor. Soon the mech is blown up and all the Krogan holding tanks are empty. Three of us against Jedore was an easy win.

Yes, Jack was mostly useless until all defenses were down. Garrus had use to overload shields. But they were both good to have against all the Blue Suns earlier. Just not good vs Krogan. Thanks, all for your help. I would expect Horizon and Collector Base to be more difficult, hopefully more things to exploit.

I hate that fight. The YMIR makes things more difficult than they should be. My usual strategy is to hope it glitches so I can finish that fight more quickly.

I have no idea how it works on Insanity, but I always try to flank her. Position my teamies where we enter and I run towards the far stairs to the midsection, kill the Krogan there and rush across so I can flank Jedore, always ends the fight pretty quickly :)

I used the Arc Projector on Jedore immediately so it hit her and the YMIR mech. Use it until her armour his gone and take her out with regular weapons. It stops the krogan coming and the YMIR is at its armour stage. Easy enough after that.

Definitely need the Arc Projector for this job, and maybe the Mattock rifle, Geth Shotgun and perhaps the Widow sniper rifle (or Locust SMG in place of the Mattock)

Ignore my solution, it's better to cut right immediately, cross midsection and hide behind the low wall where Jedore is standing and give her hell immediately.

Yes, you will be backstabbed by a Krogan, so deal with that guy asap and then focus on Jedore again. After that, kill the YMIR (you're in a great spot now where it cannot hit you, just stand behind one of those vertical metal pillars and you're fine).

Strafe left or right between the YMIR's rapid fire and missile and it'll be gone in a few well placed shots/powers :)

Don't need anything special for this fight. I'm gonna assume you're on Insanity, but the same tactics work on the other difficulties. I'm also gonna assume that you don't have the DCS weapon training yet, nor have you played Kasumi's LM and are stuck basically with a Pistol and Incinerate.

Basically Naschrakh1983 has the right idea, but you can pull the same thing off from your starting area. You can get your squaddies to deal with the YMIR and use powers on Jedore (ie Garrus' Overload). You focus on Jedore whenever she pops out. When she's bunkered down, YOU deal with the Krogan. IIRC, if you are with starting weapons/low level, you should be able to off Jedore within 3-4 Krogan easy on Insanity. The YMIR might reach your side of the room by then, but if you've dealt with Jedore, you can just run over to her side and peck away at whatever's left. Always kill Jedore & the Krogan first, just to make things easier on you. If you REALLY need a heavy weapon, use the GL or Avalanche, which have a high RoF and are great up close, vs. defenses. The Arc is great, but it's slow and not very good vs. armored things.

Jacks' Pull will cc anything that you've brought down to health, so use it if you're in a pinch. Also spam Incinerate.

Jack is awful, just awful, to bring along on that mission. Rather go with people who can (also) strip shields and armor, like Miri, Garrus and/or Mordin :)

Dangit, I'm so late to this discussion!!! I just want to mention something about a trend I'm seeing here: Jack is not a bad teammate at all, and actually is extremely useful on this mission. See, Jack has one thing that almost no other teammate has - wide area stagger. That alone makes her useful in almost every mission in the game. The key is to be able to capitalize on it.

If playing as an Adept, then this mission should actually be no problem at all as warp can chew through the armor of the krogans and stop them from regenerating their health.
As a Vanguard, you can wait till the mech gets in the middle area and then just charge Jedore. Keep her staggered with Garrus' concussive shot and Jack's shockwave in between your charges and she'll go down fast.
Soldiers can use concussive shot to rapidly stagger krogans and if you have Garrus, then you should have the Vindicator Battle Rifle, which means no problems as long as you don't run out of ammo. Or you can just take cover and use Adrenaline Rush and your sniping rifle to poke at her. She shouldn't last very long.
Infiltrators can use a similar tactic but with tactical cloak - sniper shot, repeat.
Engineers can keep the mech busy with drones while stripping the shields and armor from Jedore.

Remember, you'll always be doing the most damage in your team, and even against fully armored krogan or anything else, that shockwave from Jack on top of the concussive shot from Garrus can really set you up to easily take care of anything the game throws at you. The stagger mechanic is extremely abuseable.

The Arc Projector is the best to take them down fast. Regarding the Cain, that is overkill. You probably haven't been able to use it because you haven't gotten enough Heavy Weapons upgrades. You have to be at 100% charge to use it once. The Cain finishes the end battle on Horizon really fast, but you have to do Zaeed's LM so you can pick up an additional Heavy Weapon upgrade before you you are sent to Horizon.

Edited to add: I haven't played on Insanity yet.

A little advice for this fight: the moment the krogans spawn, as soon as you can see their health bar while they're still in the tank, they are extremely vulnerable, like when someone just comes out of stasis, so to make it really easy: take a strong weapon and hit them during that phase. I've never tested it with the heavy pistol (for instance, the strongest weapon (dmg per shot) that's available to everyone at that point in the game), but I guess they should be close to death after a single hit, so a double tap should be enough.
If you do it right you should be able to take out three of them in a matter of seconds, even four if you can handle a fast reload of your weapon.
