The only way that Miranda can actually die (not make it to ME3) is if she is taken to fight the human reaper while being normal (non-loyal).  Otherwise, she has her own special plot armor.  Without knowing how things work, it's actually quite difficult to kill her off.

My first ever playthrough of ME2 Miranda died while holding the line (and she was loyal).  So she can die there as well.

Edit: I also played my first suicide mission without a guide (Mordin and Thane also perished in that same run).

Hey, don't throw all us male players in the same boat! Some of us like Kaidan, and not just as the one human male LI for Femshep left. He's a good bro. Not quite Garrus, but still good. Better than Ashley(circa ME3 anyway).

That's actually impossible(trust me, I've spent hours with Pacifen's SM guide). She can die holding the line, but she has to be disloyal. Loyal Miranda is death-proof in ME2, and harder to kill in ME3.
Not that there's anything wrong with that!

... why is why her role in ME3 was extremely underwhelming. I mean... c'mon Bioware. Who better to help Shepard vs. Cerbz than a loyal Miranda Lawson?  They make it so hard to kill her, just so she can say: "Oriana lolol."
