Absolutely serious. Played the whole game thinking he was white until my friends pointed out that his VA is black. Then I thought to myself "He is much darker in ME3 than he is in the previous games..."

VA is meaningless since Ash's VA is black aswell, but yeah I think Anderson is pretty obviously black. The lighting in the ME games is a bit iffy though, characters look different all the time.

I still wonder why his face changed that much between ME2 and ME3, but yeah, Anderson is black. His features are common with black people, he's not just "tanned".

And he's a gawddamn badass dude you shouldn't mess around with. Hell, I'd love to have such dude like Anderson as friend.

@wetnasty
Only her grandfather General Williams is 100% caucasian. Ashley herself has some hispanic features. So either her mother is a latina (full / half) or the wife of General Williams was a latina. Take your pick ^^

It never crossed my mind that he was black, his character doesn't look black to me. His skin is more along the lines of...Tan, not brown.

Well, Earth becomes more and more of a melting pot every day:

His skin was dark brown, his black hair cut high and tight in accordance with Alliance regulations. His features, like most citizens in the multicultural society of the late twenty-second century, were a mix of several different racial characteristics. Predominantly African, but Grissom thought he could see lingering traces of Central European and Native American ancestry as well.

If Anderson is dark brown, then I must be color-blind

Doesn't matter, my nationality is irrelevant. Only thing that matters is that I know what a light skin black person looks like, and it's not what Anderson looks like.

Wait, you can TALK?!

Edit: Family guy reference, for those not attuned to everything I watch(I'm guessing 99% of you).

You've seen every light-skinned (subjective, depending on the people around you) black person on the planet, including both of my sisters and myself. I'm impressed. And I never once thought Anderson was anything but black.

I can't believe I thought you weren't trolling. Ah, well.

His eye colour appears to have changed from hazel to dark brown as well.
