Not sure if serious...

Absolutely serious. Played the whole game thinking he was white until my friends pointed out that his VA is black. Then I thought to myself "He is much darker in ME3 than he is in the previous games..."

VA is meaningless since Ash's VA is black aswell, but yeah I think Anderson is pretty obviously black. The lighting in the ME games is a bit iffy though, characters look different all the time.

It never crossed my mind that he was black, his character doesn't look black to me. His skin is more along the lines of...Tan, not brown.

What country are you from? All Black people are not brown skinned.

Doesn't matter, my nationality is irrelevant. Only thing that matters is that I know what a light skin black person looks like, and it's not what Anderson looks like.

Don't be a fool.

Well, Earth becomes more and more of a melting pot every day:

His skin was dark brown, his black hair cut high and tight in accordance with Alliance regulations. His features, like most citizens in the multicultural society of the late twenty-second century, were a mix of several different racial characteristics. Predominantly African, but Grissom thought he could see lingering traces of Central European and Native American ancestry as well.

That is probably some of the clunkiest and most implausible elaboration (concerning both world-building and race) that I've ever seen.

I always thought he was supposed to be black. Just ME1 sucked with skin color and the like.

Though Udina looks mostly the same.

Anderson has multi-racial lineage. Case closed. Just cuz Keith Mfn' David voiced him doesn't mean Anderson is Keith David.

Hmm, I always thought Anderson was from planet Cheron. I just could never figure out which side of him was supposed to be white, and which was supposed to be black. I guess I doesn't matter since he'd be the last of his kind.

Whoops, hope that wasn't a big spoiler for any Trekkies out there.

Oh, also: Keith David is awesome. Just sayin'.

What are you? 10? OK. Dammit:
I'm an Afro-Anglo-French-German-Native American. My father is from Jamaica. My mother from D.C.

<----- This Anderson avatar looks very much like my own face and skin tone if I were twenty years older.
My mouth is not that wide and eyebrows are thinner but, pointed.

It looks very much like my father when in his sixties (and yes, I f***ing bawled at the ward arms console. F***-you, Illusive Man! Just... F***-you.)

Um you realise slash from guns n roses was born in the uk. So it's ok for Anderson to be born in London and not have a British accent.

Her original writer said he conceived of her as hispanic/latina. Fans who joined the series in ME3 can be forgiven for not realizing, though, because she bleached her skin while Shep was in prison. Perhaps that explains the changes in her personality; brain damage from bleach fumes would certainly go a long way toward convincing someone that a catsuit is a good substitute for armor or that long hair and heels are awesome in combat.

Drew K is not a very good novel writer. He absolutely never uses a fluid or organic sentence when forced mechanical Ikea instructions will do, and no one ever seems to have told him that you don't spell things out for readers the way you do for actors or design guys. It's a style very suited to video games, where brevity of dialog is a virtue and all of the other information in a scene gets filtered through music and voice acting and set design and animation, but it's absolutely horrible for prose, where all the information the reader gets has to be passed along by word alone and thus the words are required to have some art to them. I will forever be confused and sad that he left a career in great video games for a career in mediocre novels.

Didn't know why it's an unpopular opinion to believe Ashley is NOT 100% Caucasian.

All I know is her Grandfather General Williams is white, but I don't know if he had a Caucasian wife. And even if he had, Ashley's father could have married a latina ... which is very likely. Also Chris L'Etoile confirmed Ash comes with a hispanic heritage.

BW messed things up with Ashley's sister Sarah - she looks clearly Caucasian with no hispanic features at all.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure somewhere along the line it was said that she is latina. Though I'm sure people can be forgiven, given that her sister in ME3 looks NOTHING like her and instead looks purely caucasian.

It seems to me that it is very common using black voice actors to portray black characters. In my humble opinion Anderson has always been black, without a doubt. I am brazilian and the vast majority of the brazilians have multi-racial lineage, but, you know, my country is full of black people, me included. It is a question of Genotype and Phenotype: anderson's genotype might be multi-racial, but his Phenotype is clearly the one of a black man.

His eye colour appears to have changed from hazel to dark brown as well.

They seem to have changed his facial features as well, his head seems a different shape.
He looks more Native American in the first pic, but the second pic reminds me of Bill Cosby for some reason
