Dear God! My eyes! My ears! I can't unsee it!

Well I wasn't expecting high cinema from something revolving around Roll Fizzlebeef.

When did Shepard say "nothing is ever simple"?

And why can't they be cool and do it in Japanese?

Mass Effect is changing its target audience, and I'm not in it. What started out as a thoughtful sci-fi setting with music designed to carry the Blade Runner vibe and dialogue that Picard could've spoken now became a goddamn Power Rangers episode full of space ninjas, space marines, anime and cringeworthy oneliners.

Enjoy selling to the 12-18 year old male demographic, Bioware. You are doubtlessly shifting your focus to this easily exploitable market because of your boundless artistic integrity.

It's not even nearly as bad as the DA anime... CGI.... thing.

I'm still trying to work out if the narrator is meant to be Anderson.

Well, that, and wondering how they can reference Shepard's comments in what is supposed to be a prequel.

If we're setting the standard at trash. Well, there is no many ways to go but up. I suppose we can be thankful one of the good characters is not getting butchered. Sigh, what a legacy Mass Effect will have.

Well, it takes place after ME1 when Shep's already famous. So it's gonna be totally rad.

Thank you, this is exactly what I was thinking. ME was never very complex, but it was a damn good space opera, peerless in it's generation. All the other Science Fiction games involving aliens (Halo, Gears of War, Crysis) paled in comparison. Now it's become fodder for ridicule.

Hey, I used to be a 12-18 year old male... it's pretty harsh to suggest they would like this.

Excuse me, I was in that demographic when I first picked up the series, and the direction they're heading in disgusts me as much as any of you. this is aimed at the adolescent audience that would still think the Star Wars prequels are good.

Actually, this helps a bit. Seriously, I'm glad it's Vega they are trying to ruin. We all should be grateful.

Nothing in mass effect is Shakespearean... I don't think that was the intent.

It's a damn preview. Remember the trailers before Gladiator came out (if you're too young to remember then sit in a corner and shut up)? Frickin Bahwitaba by Kid Rock was playing!!! I dismissed it and thought it was just going to be some wrath of the Titans kind of movie. Anyone who's seen Gladiator will laugh at that comparison. It's an epic film.

Not saying this will be epic but don't be so quick to judge.

I'm with you. I've noticed one of the most parodied things about executives is how they think they understand target demographics but they really dont.

That was you  first mistake sir,  Mass Effect was never, EVER, EVER going to be  Blade Runner.

Bioware does not have writing chops to do that.

Gundum 00 season  2 follows more the themes of Blade Runner than  Mass Effect  ever will.

ME 1 and the Mass Effect series was never that smart  and you were fooling youself thinking that it ever was .. ME  was always more sizzle than steak. Its just  you wanted  it and Bioware to be more than what they are..

Bioware just fooled you with how ME looked, they go the look do but once you get under the hood.

But see I think that what the problem is... we- and I say we because I included myself in this-  We had the rose colored glasses one and were seeing what we wanted to see and not what was there.

Did you mention that it's a video game? Lol.  You simply aren't going to get blade runner or dune in any game, but this franchise comes close.

Ive played all three games multiple times.and all I see are improvements in graphics, music and gameplay.  The narrative quality is the same.

Ill never understand people who have nothing but negative remarks for ME and who continue to post here.

Wow. He actually used the female gender in a derogative manner? Did anyone ever talk like that in Mass Effect?

Is it a Japanese studio doing it? Looks incredibly western-ish...sorta like Ben 10...which is horrible...

I never expected Mass Effect to be more than what it is... nor do I pump it up to be more than what it is.

A trilogy  that in the beginning had  great potential but ultimately feel short of meetting that potential.    They did in  improved the gameplay which was sorely needed  but scafriced and did not improve on anything else.

What I said  was... I never expected to be a Blade Runner from the start  and that was mistake a lot of people  made.

I thought Riddick anime was wrong. Some of it was quite good actually. (Perhaps, it's been years since.)
I'll go with the first reactions: "Why?"
