99% of anime is the stupidest crap you'll ever see, why would this be different. Might as well have Wal-Mart start making anime it's so bad now. To top it off they're not even putting effort into the drawing anymore, who cares about this ****.

As an anime fan, this is rather disappointing for a feature length film. Visually the characters look like most bland action shows on the market and the tone feels off compared to the rest of the universe its set in (like 3 out of the 4 serious segments of the Halo : Legends anime collection).

Still, it could be worse.

They could have gone with sickeningly cute, moe desu-fication of every single facet.

Case in point...

First this looks bad and completely over the top. I find it hard to take this serious.
If it would have been a CGI movie like the Final Fantasy ones and would have a more serious tone then I would be at least a bit interested but right now I can only laugh about this movie.

P.S I dont even hate animes. Ghost in the Shell was great but this style just doesnt fit Mass Effect in my opinion.

Oh for the love of... Do the words 'Never trust a trailer' mean anything to you people? Trailers aren't meant to show the story or do much more than be flashy and attention getting so you will pay attention to the product. There are so many trailers that misrepresent the final product, and the marketing image (not the reality, the image that marketing has) of both anime fans and of video game players is that they're predominantly male and want flashy explosions. That's what we've got here.

Does this mean that I believe that it's going to be good? I don't know. It might be brilliant, it might be a steaming pile of crap. But I won't know for sure until I get to see it in its entirety. I like to experience things for myself and make a judgement call then, when I have the facts.

I'm pretty tolerant of all art forms, but this? This is just plan terrible with EVERYTHING WRONG and the exact thing the fan base does not want!
I actually liked a few episodes of Halo Legends (I admit though, the style in one episode was so bad I actually thought one Elite was a Brute) This however, does not respect the universe's style or setting in anyway what so ever with no redeeming qualities.

You can say I'm judging on what I've seen SO FAR, but isn't marketing meant to show the best parts? This is the best they have? I can't even stand to look at this.

Yeah....I actually liked Vega in Mass Effect 3. This guy on the screen...That's not James Vega. That's someone with puppy eyes and a gaunt face. James has neither.

And, That doesn't look at all like a Krogan...I doubt it could be anything else, but it looks like a badly drawn Krogan...

I was honestly looking forward to this till I saw the trailer for it...

Occasionally, though, a fast one is pulled and an amazing teaser conceals a rubbish film (looking at you, Prometheus).

I've never been a huge fan of anime (outside of maybe Avatar the Last Air Bender, and I get the feeling that one was highly westernized), and this trailer just reinforces my general dislike for the genre.

I don't mind it being about Vega, but this movie in general just looks so unappealing.

idk, those were pretty bad too imo. Souls Within had a leg up in that it was really the most impressive CG movie at the time, but the actual content of the movie wasn't that great.

I saw Advent Children first in Japanese with English subtitles, and didn't think it was too horrible. Then I re-watched it in English and for whatever reason it was like it morphed into the worst movie ever.
