People, I'm in trouble!

I played MP a couple of days ago and my character was gone. The experience and all unlocks were still there, so I thought what the hell, named a new one and recreated the original perfectly (HMInfiltrator btw), and it was all dandy. Then today in the early hours of the morning I wanted to get in on the Broadside action, but I can't even get into the MP from the main menu. The game connects fine with EA servers, but cannot even display the Galaxy at war map.

Now, I have checked my firewall, my router, repaired the game through Origin, and tried downloading something else. Everything is in perfect working order. My dl speed is at least 4MB/s and ul speed is at least 1MB/s, so everything should be great, but I have been trying to get into the MP all day and nothing happens - connection is lost, and I am kicked back to the main menu.

Can somebody help?

Same here, it seems to coincide with the weekend multiplayer events for me.

I have the same problem. Worked fine for months and now suddenly no MP, no GaW, though the game states it's connected to EA server and can see all the installed DLCs. I wrote to EA support few hours ago, but so far no reply. Tried disabling firewall, restarted what I could, even reinstalled the game...to no effect, mass or otherwise. Even the SP won't start, unless I turn Origin to offline mode.

Hi, I've the same problem. I've played yesterday the Operastion Broadside event, won with Reapers on Gold, we all survived, than I've stopped playing. Two hours later the game states that I'm online, connected to EA servers but when I click Multiplayer button the game is loading few minutes then my favorite bar states "You have lost connection to the Mass Effect 3 server. You must connect again to access online features of the title". Then game starts to reconnect and ... connects again with EA server and when I click Multi .... the same story again.
If someone can help I'll be appreciate. Thanks.

It is their effing software and or servers. They just don't give a crap as long as they can keep pumping out "free MP DLCs" to keep the micro transactions flowing. Don't let some intellectual cripple tell you it is on your end. I have tried everything. Here is just some of my attempts...

tried the repair game option
tried running the game with a direct connection to my modem without the router in line
tried resetting my IP
tried port forwarding
checked to see if the 2 ports were open...yes they are
restarted PC
reset modem
run everthing "as administrator"
have all the programs related to the game and Origin set to "Allow" in my Norton firewall.
had cable company reset my stuff on their end
reinstalled complete game
reinstalled Origin
forced an update for the game

I seem to be able to do solo runs in a private lobby but when I try and go public so I can participate in the current operation, I get the effing "lost your connection" bug usually in the second round. I feel sorry for those of you who get it in wave 10 or 11. That would take me to all new levels of pissed off.

and before one of you trolls starts talking out of the orifice you sit on, my game is registered and legit with NO cracked exe and a completely stock/original coalesced.ini file.

Ok,so reply from EA came back, saying my account is working fine and asking for scrreenshots of the messages. I sent them back right away, but no progress otherwise and no luck accesing multiplayer whatsoever.

Can any of you get friends to try and invite you directly to their private game? I couldn't get in at all at one point, but was fine once I'd joined a game. I assume my profile was messed up on the EA servers of legendary reliability. It happened just after a game/server update too.

LOL! Always account for the weird alternative. Turns out that this friend from uni wanted to check out some news site or something, and since he couldn't get access from Bulgaria, he configured a free proxy address into IE. I didn't notice it, because let's face it - who still uses IE. It's only function is to get you to a Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox download link after a fresh install.

"How does this relate to ME3 MP?" I hear you asking. Well I am kind of speculating (I was an IT supporter before the EC, so old habits die hard :) ), but I think that Origin gets its configuration off of the same files as IE. So I was basically fine while using the Firefox to get in and out of the store and go to websites to check my speed etc. There was also nothing wrong with the router, firewall etc., but as you can imagine when Origin or ME3 tried to do anything past a most cursory verification of DLC, it would inevitably fail.

The lesson here, as always, is not to let other people mess around with your stuff. If you let somebody check out something on your PC, stick around and don't just give them a permission and let them do whatever they want, while you watch TV. Turns out they can do damage even when they don't know any passwords or personal info.

BOTTOM LINE: IF YOU ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM CHECK VERY CAREFULLY THAT YOU DON'T HAVE A PROGRAM THAT ACCESSES THE INTERNET WITH A KOOKY SETTING ON!

Been having the same f***'n problem since 7/13! Have tried REPEATEDLY to get into MP, keep getting same message: black screen & "You have lost your connection to the Mass Effect 3 server. You must reconnect to access online features." AND YET, back at the Main Menu, I'm told I'm connected to the EA servers!

Since this started, I've gotten on exactly ONCE, at about 2AM on 7/17! Hell, maybe THAT'S what I need to start doing! Go straight to bed after work and become a creature of the night just to play!

...OK, sorry for ranting. I feel better now.

But so far, I've tried everything I can think of. Tried tech support, no help there. Was given a tech file about "Opening TCP or UDP Ports for connection issures": the instructions don't even match anything on my computer. I don't think it was even written for Windows Vista. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, no good. Trying "Repair Install" now, but not expecting much.

And I know it's limited to ME3, too. I tried connecting Dragon Age II, no problem. I tried playing Left 4 Dead 2, no problem. I can get on the Internet, no problem! (OK, that one's obvious...)

I better get one BIG explanation for this crap. I even bought the Collector's Edition! I've been playing relentlessly for months, my N7 rating is up to 480, so it's frustrating to see my GaW rating dropping like a rock with no end in sight and no way to fix it! I can't even try out the Earth DLC! To make a long story short (too late), THIS SUCKS.

Got invited to a game by a friend on the weekend. This actually did the trick for me and I can now play again normally.
