I've learnt two things: First off, Banshee plus TacScan->Harrier->Arc Grenade = Dead Banshee. Secondly, too many new guys think that Avenger X on a level 7-10 AA is a great idea.

The "One-Button-Does-Everything" control scheme is not conducive to unit survival when running away from banshees

Claymore drives me crazy. One shot, then reload.  I don't see it taking down Banshees, or Brutes too quickly.
Mine's at lvl 8.

Wave 10 hacking is definitely something I would agree with kiting though.

Such a waste of time kiting and not having 4 in the hack circle - everyone gets in there, and get the rockets ready.  It only takes 4 rockets total most times to get the hack done.

I've confirmed the following:

Engineers are an amazing class when fighting Reapers.
The Harrier is a great weapon when combined with Warp ammo on an engineer...Debuff Angel of Death.
Phoenix Adepts/Vanguard and a Justicar are an impressive pairing.
Drones/Turrets will save everyone's lives more often than ANY stock of medigel or ops packs you have.
Some of the maps were definitely built to fight the Reapers more so than others.
Krogan Sentinels are nearly an unstoppable juggernaut of death to any Reaper.

Most importantly, DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF THE SWARMER or suffer a noob's fate, you will.

Playing the same enemy over and over and over again is boring.

Gold isn't as bad as I'd thought it be.

I really, really hate husks. They're annoying.

And Banshee instakill blows.

I lol'd pretty hard at this. Well played.

Glad that's how you took it; you could have just thought I was being a jerk.

Anyway, on topic: I've found I love Giant. I always thought it was a bit dull, but I never really played Gold. Lots of options for tactical withdrawal, the teamwork has been good even with randoms, and I've even put on a couple of decent shows for the spectators while soloing the end of Wave 10 after some poor soul sacrifices his/her life on a device enable or as bait while we finish the hack.

I already knew that while Adept is great for most reaper enemies, marauders still turn me into a human colander.
The new thing I've learnt is the larger-than-realised proportion of players that would rather see how many husks they can rack up instead of jumping in the extracting circle and bagging an instant 10000 xp, not to mention b****ring up the allied goal.

1) Randoms are bad. No, really they're terrible. Carried them until wave 8-9 with batarian soldier, got instakilled and whole team collapsed.
2) Strangely randoms think that FB Hydra gives them better chance to succeed. They're wrong. Ravagers and marauders perfectly use large open spaces of Hydra to snipe them. It also has one of the worst objective places.
3) Sometimes you meet decent randoms. Your chance is 1/10.
I really want to help people to get commendation pack, but so far I made only one extraction with randoms(the other game with randoms was with people from BSN). Don't count games with friends.

I've learned, that like the main game, the MP is filled with little bits and pieces of screwed up mechanics that mess with the over all game, and thus will never be as good as it could be because someones refusing to admit that these things. just. don't. work.

I've learned that the Incisor is just as ineffective against Reapers as it is against Cerberus and Geth, if not more ineffective. Marksman doesn't seem to remedy the problem.

Also, I've learned that the Human Engineer is a perfectly viable class against Reapers, and Incinerate isn't as awful of a power as I thought.

I usually get insta-killed like once every 8-9 matches (most if not all of a week's play for me)

...today alone Banshees impaled me twelve times :crying:

Decoys don't work on Banshees or Brutes, its as if there not there. Cannibals, husks & Marauders are fine. Ravagers pay a little notice but will start shooting at you if they see you or perhaps because your shooting at them?

I've learned that there are some really staggeringly ignorant players in ME3 MP, and I'm not talking about people who aren't so good at Gold, who I quite enjoy helping out. Some jerk just swore and cussed me for having a low score when we wiped on wave 8 of Reaper Gold and he and his apparent friends kicked me. I'd already done 10 or so Reaper Gold extractions this weekend just to keep doing them and help out while gathering credits for the DLC, but I guess he was ornery about getting his done.

In the first place, he picked the worst spot on Hydra to set up camp (the landing zone where you can get pounded by Ravagers from everywhere, rather than near the control room). In the second place, I was playing my Asari Justicar and got put in the game on the end of wave 2 without any equipment but my Stronghold V item, In the third place, there was no other biotic to detonate off my Reave, everyone else was a weapon class. In the 4th place, I wasn't even anywhere near the lowest score, I about tripled the lowest score. And in the 5th place, everyone was all over the map trying to pump up their score, which is largely why we wiped out. I wish score wasn't even displayed for exacty that reason.

So 3 new people are on my XBox Avoid list (the first 3 people, actually). But for the most part, my experiences with random groups have been pretty positive.

I love playing reapers on gold. What I have learned is that there are a lot of people who shouldnt be playing gold. You cant even carry a team because you have 3 other people that arent either used to gold or they only play fbwgg.

Another thing which was a first last night. A banshee can grab you through a wall and insta kill you.

This assumes two things;

a) That you have rockets left on Wave 10

B) That your squadmates will actually use their rockets

If point B) is not the case, then point a) probably won't be either.
