After having a PUG run around killing solo and tanking the extraction three times in a row (not the same player each time, three different groups) I became so frustrated I quit out, set the lobby to private, and soloed bronze with my Geth Engineer. That's no particular accomplishment, but a light bulb went off in my brain.
One group of four players can achieve a full extraction every twenty minutes (most of the time, if they don't have a player like I described in the opening paragraphs).
Four players soloing bronze in private matches can achieve four full extractions every twenty minutes. That increases the rate by nearly four times (accounting for additional caution time playing solo and the occasional failure slows the solo venture's pace a little, I would guess).
So if your main goal at this stage is to complete as many full extractions as you can, consider playing solo on bronze (or if you are better than me, silver... but I think even the best players are going to fail some percentage of the time on Gold) to speed up the process.
I know that doesn't encourage much co-op teamplay, but it's only until tomorrow morning, anyway.
