Ugh. So it really was just a cheap way to try invoke emotions. Oh well.
Was there ever any doubt or suspicion that it was anything else? I think "this is a ploy to play on your emotions" was confirmed at E3 2011.

Hepler said it was just to tie Shepard's story personally to Earth and the feeling of not being able to save the child.

Any more Mass Effect comics, or maybe just a monthly ongoing series?
Jesus Christ, there was a entire panel about this earlier...

The answer to that is obvious. What a useless question.

Safe questions. Plants everywhere.

Turns out the kid is just a contrived plot device and has no actual relevance to the story. Meaning that the scenes of shepard being upset at the kid dying and all that baloney are "canon" for every shep even if you didnt feel anything for the kid.
/sigh.

NEWSFLASH: Not everyone is as pissed about the endings as you guys. Some people actually wants to talk about the game itself, and future content. Deal with it.

I don't think they're plants, just think they're dumb persons who became dumber with a microphone in their hands.

You know, these are the sorts of question I would ask. Why is everybody yelling "plant"?
I mean, nobody is ever going to go to a panel and say "your product sucks, why does your product suck so much?" no matter what that product is.

I'm actually there, RIGHT NOW third row.
You guys should see the people asking the questions, my professor and I (got him in with with) are trying so ****ing hard right now not to laugh. The look on the panel's faces right now are great, deer in headlights.
