I thought this was an interesting response from Mike Gamble.

Q: Any chance of bringing in "past battles" like Krogan vs Rachni or something like that into some DLC?

Gamble: "We look at our entire IP and we look at places we can tell stories all the time, that's all I can really say about that."

Make of that what you will?

I'm just happy at any news of DLC.
Single player? Yay more Shepard and crew.
Multiplayer? Loooooads of credits.

I just love how the SP exclusive people seem to talk as if MP fans don't care about the game like everyone else, as if people who play multiplayer haven't also been looking forward to SP at all.

It's like listening to people trying to prove that their chosen ending is better than any other or that a console gamer is inferior to a PC gamer or.. well it's just silly, no matter how you look at it. We're all fans, aren't we?

Let there be no distinction between singleplayer fans and multiplayer fans. Lets come together as one unified Mass Effect fandom. Image IPB

For anyone that have missed it, the me comics panel pretty much confirmed the omega dlc. We now have at least two sp dlc to look forward to!

From the live feed; Priestly, "Yeah, the three Mass Effect trades that are out already each really give you information about the Mass Effect Universe.

The third one was all about Aria T'Loak, and anyone who like Mass Effect 3 and wants to know what's coming next... might want to pick that book up."

A few lines down;
11:13Priestly: "Yeah, there's still single player DLC coming, I gave a hint about that before, but we can't talk about any sequels. It's a great universe and I hope we continue to explore it!"

So was anything of significance shown/announced at all?

We learned that the "Breathing scene" is Shep taking his last breath according to some from Bioware<_<

link? source? quote? Image IPB

They didn't even say that, they're just trying to keep it vague in that it could either be showing him survive or it could be his last breath.

WHAAAAATTT???   a bioware employee previously came on these forums and explicitly straight out stated that the breath scene is shepard living and getting back w/ li in future......what a crock of **** this development at comic con....im still just shaking my head in disbelief at this company.....getting ppl to make up their own stories in their own heads and then pay me for it.....that could make some money....what a mess....

All she said was that the scene was designed so it could be interpreted either way.  If people wanted to believe that it was just a last gasp before death, they could.

If people are still confused about the breath scene, it's simple:  Shepard's alive in destroy.  He will reunite with his crew.  There would be no narrative gain to showing us a death rasp when simply not showing him at all would have been a sufficient and more artful way to solidify his death.  It's the only ending where they showed him after the explosions, and they showed him alive.  Case is closed on this one.

I thought the EC was to provide closure and clarity because their original endings were so open to interpretation that the ultra negative interpretaions became dominent and their hatred of the open natured saminess of all endings was so strong Bioware decided decided to clarify them. Yet they won't clarify Shep's fate in the only one of the multiple versions of the endings that it is possible for him /her to survive. Really poor show in my opinion.

The questions need to be approved. Its not freedom there, its what they want to answer.

If they question is too uncomfortable they just deny it.

Gotta love the corporations...

The "last breath scene" cannot be interpreted either way. That scene only makes sense as a flashback. It is shown after the entire epilogue and makes no sense chronologically/sequencially.

What would be the logic of seeing a flashback, after the epilogue, of Shepard dying?

I'm not trying to be mean but that's just stupid!

I had a feeling that the questions were smoke-screened if not outright planted.

I was wondering where the obligatory "Tali's face?" question was... I guess Bioware wasn't prepared to justify a lazy Photoshop edit on a stock image pulled from the interwebs.

They already tried to justify it saying that Miranda, Sheploo and other character have real face models, they wanted the same treatment for Tali... Doesn't change the fact they used the exact same photo as a google.jpg.

They completely dodged the question, though. They didn't answer the primary concern.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised...

Y'know what, no. He didn't answer the question at all. He just said there's always the possibility they can do it. Never said they were.

I find it significant that he didn't say "Mass Effect Universe, he said "our IP" probably short for "our Intellectual Property". This means that even though they are not willing to do any Sheppard sequel, they will not let anyone else do it.

I was hoping, since it seems they were hell bent on killing the series, that they would sell the rights to it to some other game developer that still listens to fans :(

I was watching the Assassin's Creed III panel () and in the Q&A there was a bunch of really good questions so I came to two possible conclusions of why the Q&A of the ME panel was so lame: 1) the fans in that panel were not real fans or 2) they were plants.

2 quotes from newsarama made my "WTF?!" of the week, I think...

Parrish Ley (about EC):
"The logic is super complicated. It toggles your EMS rating, who lives who dies, your paragon or renegade rating, and many other aspects"

"I also really liked the Rachni sequence where they move into Tuchanka, a different consequence and a pretty cool scene"

We played different ECs didn't we?...

Maybe the ending was a wee bit too ambiguous?

Me, afte that panel I'm seriously struggling with just uninstalling the trilogy.

The high EMS destroy needed one slide -- Shepard in the hospital. One slide. But they couldn't commit for fear that some people might find Shepard surviving offensive.

You know, I've come to the conclusion that the whole company has become a giant cluster****. They don't know what the hell they're doing. I'm perfectly content with uninstalling ME3 and Arrival, and letting the series end with LOTSB. Sort of like ignoring Season 5 of Babylon 5 except for the two episodes that mattered, because the rest of season 5 didn't. The Suicide Mission ends with the reapers stranded in dark space. You blow up the base. It's over. Season 3 of Mass Effect cancelled.

They give you one inkling of hope then in one remark yank the rug out from under you. Seriously, BioWare is going to have to get its act together as a serious game company before I buy another game from them. This is amatuer stuff. Sure you can have the $$ to bring in the voice actors, but damn, story writing has really sucked recently. Characters are great, but story? Keep your nihilism.
