Hello everyone,
Reciently I came up with an idea that I what to implement into NWN2, however this requires me to add new custom placeables. I've spent around a week now looking over every tutorial and forum conversation on the topic and have finally come to my wit's end about the subject. I am using 3ds max 8 and expotron along with NWN 2da Editor to implement my new custom placeables.
However, my problem is this: whenever I have exported my placeables model (with the flag "Placeable - rigid") and create a new line in the Placeables.2da file to add the new model everything goes smoothly, but once in the editor and I create a new global blueprint and add the new appearance; it shows up as a black box with a red question mark on all six sides. Not only this, but also shows a selection box in roughly the same shape as the model I imported.
I have become rather fustrated with this, but I don't mean to give up on it either, I just need a bit of assistance.
The line I have set up in the Placeables.2da file is a s follows:
(Under these are the values that I have changed, the rest are "****")
Label StrRef PlaceableModelType Fade NWN2_ModelName
BOX **** 0 1 plc_box

Its a textrue issue.
Make sure you diffuse texture as a tga (32bit) or DDS
Also you must have a normal map
Make sure the model, and textures are in the override or hak pack .

Thank you very much, once I added the proper texture files it worked with no problem.

Here's one for you: Every time I create a new placeable(blueprint) and give it a different model it shows up as the same model as the first new placeable blueprint I created.

In the placeables.2da, the toolset uses the Label column to find the relevant data. Whatever "appearance" you assigned in the blueprint is the key. The column NWN2_ModelName is then used as the placeable model. Make sure the correct model name is associated to your new placeable, and you have a unique Label.
