I don't care about the relevant terminology used, or the artistic reasoning behind the use of camera. All that I can tell you is that a careful viewing of the cutscenes with female squad members shows that the shots consistently end up focusing on either Miranda's rear or breasts, moreso than with the other squad members. Feel free to look them up on Youtube to see this.

Whether there is clever artistic reasoning behind it or not, what is clear is that Miranda's "perfection" is as emphasized visually as it is through dialogue with Shep. You can decide if that's sexualization, pandering to male geek fantasy, or a clever reinforcement of a theme, but the shots pretty much speak for themselves.

Uh, are you calling us rapists?

Wow that's a little weird, even for me.

No.... how did you even get that from what i said.

I concur with MegaSovereign. The phrase "ask for it" implies some sort of violence or inappropriate actions.

Unless by "ask for it", you meant "ask for the accurate date and time".

Everything you just typed reinforced everything I was saying.

You however, missed this twice.

Woman are almost always framed a certain way. As are men.

Look at Kaidan in the hospital. You don't think that was framed a certain way for a reason?

That's how it's ALWAYS done.

It suiting my agenda has very little to do with it. I find a great number of people on BSN annoying, you're one of maybe 3 people who I've bothered pointing it out to. The arrogant tone in your posts isn't helping.

I never once said or implied anything like that. Not only are you a hypocrite for making your own assumptions about me after you criticized me for doing it, but now you're straight up making up ****.

What assumptions did I make? I'm simplifying it for the sake of convenience. I'm not going to dig through your personal posting history just to sniff out a quote or two, that's absurd.

I think you mean "if a woman wears revealing clothing". Anyone who wears revealing clothing must be asking for attention of some kind. You can't exactly fall into a skin-tight cat suit by accident then walk out the door completely oblivious.

And I imagine some folks would be kind of upset seeing "rape" followed by a certain religious figure.

Point is, I didn't make jokes or comments specific to Miranda's figures. I made a thread mocking her choice to not change her outfit nor hair style, two of arguably her most striking features.

But of course the thread devolved into discussion on camera angle and some sort of wording etiquette and gender inequality.

It's not the woman in this case, it's the bloody camera.

*Walking with Miranda on time on the Citadel* Yo. *butt shot*
*In the Spectre Office* Oh, hey Miranda, what's up? *butt shot*
*In the apartment* Hey Miranda. *butt shot*

Dangit game! I don't even like Miranda that much, stop showing me her behind and let me just talk to her.

Incorrect.

The scenes are composed to either the left or the right side of the frame.

This does not draw attention to it.

If you'd like, I could draw up a shot analysis and composition notes.

Go ahead. Is completely obvious that Bioware intended to submit a subliminal message. This does not happen to anyone else, and if it does, it's not done in a way that's clearly deliberate trying show someones ass. Also, you wanna pull out the "Act your age" card. Jokes are made about everything in Mass Effect, why your taking something, like a joke about a video game character so seriously is beyond me.

There is nothing, I repeat nothing, subliminal about Miranda's ass. Oh, and before the age issue is brought up, I'm 55, white, male, single and enjoy fine badunkadunks.

Yeah there is, you have still to prove me wrong.

Miranda at least removed Cerberus logo from her outfit. When Shepard buys Cerberus Armor, he happily prunces around with logo on his chest. It was pretty funny in Grissom mission, when Shepards comes to those kids in Cerberus Armor and says: It's ok, we're Alliance. Yeah, right.

Speaking of that scene, am I the only person who is pissed off that Bioware didn't actually model some kind of hospital gown and just spray painted Ash's chest black?

Kaiden is even worse, he doesn't even get a paint job.

This is just so gross. When i wear revealing clothing i wear it because i want to and because i like it. Not because i want to hear inappropriate jokes from guys that make me uncomfortable. Women don't wear "skin tight cat suits" just to be ****** material for you guys or to get made fun of.

I respect that, but then you have to understand it from a men's POV. In todays society, wearing "loose" clothes is seen in a way that we think you want to reveal on purpose for attention, and honesty, a lot of times we're right.

I'm going to go with a metagaming reason--while IN STORY it makes total sense for her to alter her appearance, I think that BW left her in the outfit to make her easier for the PLAYER to locate on the Citadel, as compared to the relative inconvenience of wading through crowds of refugees to find other named characters.

LOL yeah. Same goes for the Collector armor.

But at least you can choose to not wear that (or even buy the armor). Miranda's outfit is just one of many little things that Bioware failed to polish in the game.

And to quote Jack, "pisses me off".

I mean, how much work would it be to put Miranda in a different armor? Or actually just give her a common mercenary armor. She's on the run isn't she? A merc armor allows her to blend in much easier than the skin-tight catsuit armor.

Mmm...I think they just got lazy to be honest. She says "Shepard. Over here."

Afterall, new players wouldn't know who to look for either. The least they could have done was thrown a jacket on her.

@bold- Dear God, don't ever say that again. That sounds like something a 9 year old would say if his parents told him to go to school.

Settle down and stop getting so huffy. I don't do it, and I never said anything that you just finished writing, keep up. I simply stated it that many girls who do wear loose clothes do it for attention, how do I know? first hand expirience, I was just explaining where the steroetype came from. I didn't say everyone and I dissagree with that notion, I believe females should be able to wear what they want without being judged in a derogatory way.
