Yeah, Patrick Weekes (I think it was) has made light of all that plenty of times in the past. The Codex entries and the planet descriptions are the bane of his literary existence.
I think what would be even more troublesome is trying to write something unique for every planet. Any writer that worked on planet descriptions has my respect for that.

I've always had a thing for those unexplored races. I want to learn so much more about the Krogan and Quarian. Seeing that tiny bit of preserved architecture on Tuchanka was amazing.

Oh man, that blew my mind. Graphically it was a highlight as well, but it was more than just aesthetics. It was stepping into the ancient krogan past, for one fight and one fight only. <3
