This was assumed from ME2. And it makes sense that it happen with Aethyta's back ground.grey_wind wrote...
I hated the fact that Liara was made into Aethyta's (sp?) daughter, simply because it felt contrived beyond reason that her father was selling drinks right next door to her. I know ME3 gives an explanation, but it still ends up making the galaxy seem so much smaller.
So to basically answer the OP, I hate the idea of Liara and Aria being related.

I know it's been forever and a day but I was thinking about this and googled it. I see it as possible, even if not probable. Aethyta has 2 more daughters and one was with a hanar. Aria's markings and facial structure always made me think her father was a hanar. Hence, my wondering about the two.
