Evening, folks.

Just finished a fairly major armor project for my PW, and just remembered a player griping that it was so hard to find certain armors across the races (instead of modified slightly or HEAVILY (cough *half-orcs* cough).

While I COULD sit down for a couple of hours and bang on this, does anybody happen to know a specific .mdb that shares the same texture files across races?  If so, that would make it worth my time to work up a few sets of armor with wider release (we're using custom races and have neither elves nor dwarves, for instance, so there's no point in me doing a Nexus release for characters most people will never play...but shared textures would let me economically "fix that" for everybody else's benefit).

EDIT:  since there were no takers, I went in and did the servey. Chain Shirt Body 02 (01 in the toolset) appears to be the only cross-gender/cross-race consistent vanilla model.

That's the only one I've encountered as well - and the texture doesn't look all that great around the female chest region.

I can't imagine how firm those breasts must be to be able to deform chain mail like that. They surely must be WMDs (Weapons of Mammary Destruction).

^That's my general take on the situation.  The breastplates are even worse -- MUCH worse, like the poor gals have cannonballs or grapefruits in there.  Just what a woman needs going into combat -- a curved surface GUARANTEED to direct any and all incoming impacts center-of-mass rather than safely off to the side....I wonder if it's worth modding the mdb's for an appropriately (under armor) flattened chest prior to texturing.

Oh, WEIRD.
The p_hhm_ch_body02 (01 in toolset) is doing double-duty for both genders. the hhf texture is there, but it's a lie -- it's not actually doing anything.

BUT, and I've now encountered this on two textures (this one and p_hhm_pf_body03), if I try to cut into the mesh to make parts of it transparent, it's like the model was never altered at all. It's like for these two textures the toolset engine is saying "screw the override." I've got models and textures both in override -- any idea what's going on? I can apparently change the color of the texture (red stripe? No problem?), but no transparency.

If you open the models in the MDB cloning tool, does the check box for the alpha channel have a tick in it? If not, then it might be ignoring the alpha channel completely.

I must have an older version of the software. My mdbcloner doesn't seem to have such a tickbox.

FIXED. Yep, that was the problem. Once I made a new model using transparency, it worked like a charm.

Thanks.  The new Cloner makes a big difference.
