if only you could struggle out of it...make it happen bioware!

Sometimes I randomly mash A,B,X, and Y and every once in a-while it actually drops me.
Seriously.

In the event that someone manages to make a Banshee stagger, she drops whoever she's about to kill.
I think Bioware made it damn near impossible to pull off in one of the recent balance updates though, I've only seen it happen twice in the past month.

i never see banshee's getting staggered either and i can only save a teamate by using a rocket when shes grabing him

thats why i want a struggle minigame, same thing as it is with husks when they grab you

i don't care if its not even an animation if i can just get incapacitated its alright by me but i don't want to be gone for the whole round :|

Grab and Magnet Hands' magnet grab are different. Many times last night she would teleport next to me, I would combat roll away and then sprint about 100 ft away where I rolled to. All for naught though. All of a sudden I would be sprinting backwards and pulled into her insta kill.

Our over-the-counter grabs don't pull a Scorpion move and yank the non-boss types from across the map like a Banshee can.

IMO,they operate on the same mechanics but due to lag which affects both scenarios,it ends up looking as if the grab execution move is "magnetic".

I believe the a "fist" grab sign also exists for the banshee and phantom so if a player comes close enough to them for that signal to appear to them,as long as they manage to hit it within the timeframe it appears for them, the move will be executed no matter what.

On FBWGG when players are camping at the lower level behind cover, there are plenty of chances for them to grab mooks. However,if there is significant lag,you will notice that your grab does not installing execute.Instead, you will see the mook move further away initially such that the first sign disappears. However, thereafter  mook will suddenly be magnetically drawn back to its initial grab position and you execute the move.In cases of even worse lag,you won't see the move being executed but you will see the melee kill message registering and points given.

I believe the same thing applies to banshee and phantoms as well. The moment you ran past them in proximity such that you are within melee grab range, the fist sign poped up for them and they hit their melee execution. However, due to lag,it does not immediately execute but the computer already noted that they have indeed performed a melee execution. Thus you will end up being magnetically drawn back to them just like when we try to grab mooks under the same laggy circumstances.

Only way to avoid is to always give yourself a wide berth from them.Imagine as if there was a layer of cover between them and you...if you touch that "cover",the fist sign pops out for them and if they hit their execution button on time(they will being AI and all that),the move is guaranteed to play out even if you seemingly ran way past them.

Today I was on the top of the inside stairs at FBW and got grabbed by a banshee all the way at the bottom by the ammo box. That was the longest magnet hands I've ever experienced. Also, one time I was grabbed around a corner. no bueno

In both instances, did you ever run past any where near them even once?

Sometimes it can be attributed to lag, but not all the time. I've been hosting some gold reaper matches and I am getting yanked to her said Scorpion style. Just now on Firebase Giant  I was up in the control room behind the counter nearest the ramp door. A banshee on the ramp pulled from cover over to her.

An interesting phenomena that I've noticed was on Giant.

A Banshee tried magnet grabbing me through the small dividers at the Exterior where the grated floor part is. She pulled me into the wall from the side closest to the Bunker/Cargo Transfer , but since the wall was there, I was merely fixed in place for a second or two, before the game gave up on the Magnet Grab and decided it was okay for me to live.

This really needs to be fixed.

I was playing as a drell adept yesterday with adrenaline rush 2. I'm running from ammo box to ammo box for grenades. I get grabbed and two of the other dead players over the headset go WTF you went back at least 20 feet.

I noticed though from playing that if you are in an offensive bubble when you get grabbed, the team can deal enough damage to break the hold particularly if there is someone with warp.
