Thank you for reading! And Happy New Year, btw... A little early.
Yeah, someone else reminded me that there was an asari in ME2 on Illium that said something about being 60 and finally getting out of her parents' basement. I knew my thoughts on the matter wouldn't be to everyone's taste, but I explained the basis for my thoughts on the matter in my Author's Note.
Personally, I wish the codex had been specific on points of maturity and age in several different sections. They say how long asari and salarians live, but not when they're considered adults. They don't even mention quarian life expectancy. I'm curious as to how long a quarian lives. And they don't say much about Krogan lifespan either, aside from that they live for a long, long time. I would love it if an official source said something more specific, but all I can do is go with what I can rationalize myself. I guess it wasn't really high on the list of information that must be included in the codex, but I personally find that sort of info interesting.

Remember that most of their modern history is before they were spacefaring. Even if their physical adulthood is in their 20s, society might still consider them children until age 60. I agree with you, BW should have added more of these smaller details that makes this universe amazing. They're having a lore book released for Dragon Age, in april next year. Maybe we'll see something similar for ME if it's a success.
The krogan warlord in ME2 is at least in his 1400s. I doubt 'old age' is any cause of death for a krogan, heh.
I say, when there is no canon, set your own rules and stick to them for your fanfiction. And curse BW when they make something canon in a future game/book that contradicts it.
I've not written fanfiction, but I'm stepping on uncertain ground with the lore with my RP, which is the result of a lot of reading between the lines and tidbits of lore material. I might have some retconning or explaining to do, were any future canon material to not agree with my interpretation.

It really would be nice if Bioware released an official, expanded Mass Effect lorebook. It would be cool to see how they expand upon information from the codex and the games.
On another note, as scheduled, Chapter 38 is online!

Great chapter, as always. As for the troop-transport thing, it's a good assumption you've made. And I doubt BW would make another game or anything containing new canon that might contradict it at some point in the future. The Reapers ended with ME3, after all.
Looking forward to the next one.

Thank you for your continued interest in the story. Someone also just recently mentioned that in one of the missions Garrus may have said something like "Harvester, dropping off more troops!" I may have to pay attention and see if that's the case the next time I play through the games. I do know that as mentioned in my notes, for some reason I was left with a really strong impression at the end of the games that they doubled as transports.
But back on point, it's always good to see that someone is enjoying the story. Thanks for reading!

I'm actually amazed I managed to do it on schedule, considering my internet has gone down seven times in the last four hours, but Chapter 39 is now online!

Well, for once I wasn't able to edit the latest Chapter the night before, so it went up an hour later than usual... I was just too tired last night. But still, on the morning promised, I can present...
Chapter 44!

Good mix of weaponry; heavy pistol, grenades, biotics, sniper rifle (once), assault rifles, drones and tech powers. And it doesn't even sound like a Sharper Image Advert!

Good chapter as always. There's one instance where Prathus refer to Salik by first name, which is nothing major, but it just struck me as odd. ("(...) is in there or Salik (...)")

Oh! Thanks for pointing that out. I must have missed it in editing. I'll have to go in and fix it. In speech, he always refers to people by their last names. Must find and edit!

Here we are, right on schedule! And I half expected to find power out when this time came. Supposed to be getting a nasty snowstorm today and tomorrow here...
But anyway, Chapter 45 is up!

Wow! I never really thought of my writing as being that grammatically sound. But I am extremely flattered regardless. Thank you very much for reading. I'm glad to know I'm helping in some way. And hopefully keeping you entertained as well.

Good usage of the atmospheric conditions. A hot planet with little water would have little cloud cover. Unless, of course, they were planning to ram a ice-comet into it at some point. Just for convenience sake, lol.
