Which enemy combos stood out? I imagine phantom+hunter or banshee+engineer was a pain.

Banshees and Atlasses are friends.  Atlasses are a wall, Banshees drive you around the map until you hit the wall.  A fair deal of my attention was spent on preventing that situation from occurring.  The rest was spent on avoiding being snuck up on by swarmers, phantoms, and speeding geth hunters.

EDIT

but seriously, As soon as I heard about platinum I thought that if anyone could run it successfully it'd be GP(among a few other people). I have all confidence that you'll solo it.

Let me guess, you used the Quarian Male or Geth Infiltrator with the Krysae...

I don't see this particular combination being a problem on any map that isn't Glacier, or Jade.

It was Glacier / Cerberus.  Though the "Cerberus" part didn't seem to matter much.  There were banshees, marauders, ravagers, brutes, hunters, pyros, and primes everywhere =p

Haha. Guess this means respeccing and ignoring everything that's only effective against unshielded and unarmored enemies if one hadn't already.

*CoughPheonixSmashCough* Or the already famed Geth, either Geth work :P

GodlessPaladin, so you think it is possible to solo it?

I would also like to know what weapons did you use and how many damage it was taking to atlasses and banshees.

When did you get to play? During the Bioware party?

Details from the photo on my camera (won't be able to upload it until I get home tomorrow):

Firebase Glacier, Cerberus (until round 3)
35:12
339485XP (as mentioned no bonus due to settings)
130250 credits (low time bonus on account of some hairy device objectives)

208203 Geth infiltrator
56821 Salarian Engineer (myself)
47877 Sentinel
26584 Vanguard

Sorry no details on the others, pretty sure they were both human but was not paying much attention. I was mostly tossing decoy to bottleneck the bigger enemies and snare banshees/phantoms when I could, to keep the pressure off the team and let the heavy hitters do their work.

Tense rounds at times, particularly the last few, burned my last medigel on extraction trying to raise someone in a cluster; just came down to waiting until the last second to burn the medigel and wait out the timer for the successful mission result. Not bad for my third or fourth game on Xbox (and I thought the all-in-one button was annoying on PC...wow moving around was tough to get used to).

Platinum will be soloable. But it won't be easy.

Nice job...can't wait until Tuesday to conquer it myself..Did it seem like there were more enemy numbers added to a spawn or just the same amount like gold but mixed enemies?

Maybe.  But we were on Glacier, so yeah.

There were a lot more "elite" enemies.

Is well coordinated camping possible? I like running around as a team as much as the next guy, but sometimes holding a position and defending it well is really satisfying. I guess what I am asking is how often do banshees spawn? haha.

I suspect coordinated camping may be possible, if you can deal with the pressure the elites offer.

Banshees spawn quite a lot, though.   Much, much more than in the "failed banshee killing event" even.

Weapon/Build/Loadout?

I know you were a GI (my favourite class) and I was wondering what setup you used. I take it you weren't using your melee build? ;)

BTW you also get +200,000 internet points. :)

Yeah, kiting a banshee is fun until it warps through the wall right next to you. Getting them snared on decoys was always fun.

Good to see you in action GP (was wondering what name you went under on here), well at least when I wasn't running around the map dragging enemies and reviving teammates. Setting up shooting galleries for you was probably the highlight of the match for me whenever it stacked up right.

Did enemies fight among themselves when lacking player targets?

What weapons did you use?

Compared to Gold, how tougher (More HP/SHIELD/ARMOR) did the enemies have? Did you notice a difference?

Were you hosting?

No.  They beelined for players at increased speed.  I may have been imagining it, but I think the banshee teleport was a good bit longer too.  I remember being surprised initially by how easily she closed with me.

What weapons did you use?

I used the Krysae with Disruptor Ammo IV for boosted tech burst spam.  I don't remember what my teammates were using.

  It definitely seemed higher.

Were you hosting?

We were in the same room.  I played on two different TVs and didn't really notice a performance difference.  I am unaware of which player was "hosting."

Do you think it is easier or harder on a console than it is on a PC?

How do you think the new classes will survive(or not survive) on Gold. COuld any of them match a good SI or Geth infil?

Altough the amount of elite units has been raised, has the max enemy cap of 8 at a time been raised as well?(E,G was there more than 8 enemies on the map at the same time?)

I suggest you make a FAQ at the start of the thread to answer the most obvious questions to avoid them being repeated :)

I did not notice infighting (everything certainly seemed intent on maiming my salarian whenever possible).

I was running a Carnifex X, damage+ap, cryo IV

I noticed a difference, but not easily quantifiable at the time (in part due to how many shots I was missing trying to aim with an analog stick)

I cannot remember who was the host for that game, it seemed to rotate among the four stations that were set up as people dropped to adjust settings and what not.

I didn't get to mess around with the new classes enough to really pass judgment on them right now.

Meh. I showed up at 1:30, only to be told they weren't doing it then due to the autograph session. The lady told me to come back later as the multiplayer would be open during the party. I showed up at like 6:30 after scoring a free comic-con badge (ask me how) but the line was already too long and I left after half an hour.
