So Platinum is nothing special? Just mixed up buffed up enemies? Meh. And I knew it will be meh.

Yep, sounds like Platinum is simply Gold+ just as Silver is only Bronze+. So far the only real difficulty spike seems to be the transition from Silver to Gold. Not to say Platinum won't be challenging, but I reckon a seasoned Gold standard player with a good team of friends will have very good chances at completing Platinum consistently.

Also anyone else slightly tickled that BioWare spent all this time hyping it up as impossible and then Paladin just goes down there and smiles as he beats it in front of a crowd of thousands :P

Not to belittle GodlessPaladin's and Cal-'s awesome achievement beating Platinum, but I don't think extracting a "Lone Survivor" extract is proof that Platinum is easier than expected. Also, I've never heard the "impossible" rhetoric being thrown around in regards to Platinum difficulty, just that very few people have ever progressed far.

To be fair Cal- didn't even know what races the Vanguard and Sentinel were... a sign of carrying them. With a proper team (Infiltrators, Biotics, Grenadiers) you could probably easily get full extraction.

Lone Survivor was done on his SECOND ATTEMPT and with two randoms (possibly three if you include Cal-). Come on GP scored over 200k. Cal- was a team player but-with the exception of the Turian Sentinel-there are no real team players in the Vanguard and Sentinel classes and none of which that could synergise with Paladin and Cal- in the most efficient way possible.

BioWare themselves couldn't complete it and they made the bloody thing... of course this is BioWare and it is a common occurence for playerbase to overtake developers in terms of skill. You think GP would be lone survivor and take 35 minutes if he had a decent team he actually knew and could communicate with?

Grats to you, so is it safe to say Plat is useless to me if I really couldn't care much about credits but rather fun? The 130k is probably not finishing the objectives super fast but still, is 55k more really worth 20-30 min more of stress?(I take 20-30 min on Gold......hell even 30+ if group is not synergized))

Depends on your definition of "fun". I think the mixed factions will make Platinum fun- definitely require more coordination and different strategies from Gold. But you said that 55k wouldn't make Platinum "worth" it, so it sounds like you really are more interested in Credits.

Really, I would just say to give it a try or two before you make the big decision.

I don't think that's true. I remember in some interview them saying very few people in the office were able to beat it. Of course if that is the whole Bioware office then it may still have been people who are not on the MP Dev team.

So you beat Platinum with a Geth infiltrator and a score of over 200k when the next guy had 60k. Whats that I hear? Oh, its the sound of nerfers off in the distance crying for more Infiltrator nerfs.

HAHAHAHAHAHA oh and HAHA.

Funniest thing about this post? GP actually suggested nerfs to TC and the Krysae in the Balance all the things group/post before Bioware nerfed them.

Actually, I think it's far more likely to nerf the Krysae than nerfing Infiltrators further.  If it's looking like Infiltrator + Krysae is making Platinum easier than they would have liked, I think the Krysae will get the axe quickly.  Especially if the stats come out and like 90% of Platinum lobbies have an Infiltrator with a Krysae or something.

I dont think I have what it takes to do Platinum, I can sometimes solo the odd wave on gold, but when bad teams crumble, I end up going down with them.

Good job GP, and thanks for sharing.

I hope my friends get back to ME3 with the DLC, so we can rock some Platinum. I'm looking forward to it :)

Question for the OP:

Do low-level enemies (Assault Troopers, Centurions, etc...) ever stop spawning on Platinum to make way for increased Banshees, Phantoms, etc...? Also, do only certain enemies from the factions added at Wave 3 show up? In other words, if I'm fighting Cerberus on Platinum, can I expect to see Geth Rocket Troopers and Mauraders, or just Pyros, Primes, Brutes and the like?

Just because you're not strong on your own doesn't mean you won't function in a team.
I've seen more then enough people who when placed in a bad team play like crap, but when placed in a good team where they can act as a support class they end up with the highest scores, most revives, stuff like that.

I hope platinum gives those who need it the challange they require. I find gold challenging enough. Can't wait to see some of the speed runs.

Wheat from the chaff, and all that.

Eh... that is true and I'm guessing they will have had a beta tester or two finish in a group before releasing to the public. No company is stupid enough to release an impossible  challenge that they never even saw to extraction.

Da*m! over 100,000 creds for a single platinum mission, I'd never thought this day would come, that we'd get that many for one mission.

Wow... I need to go to gaming events.

Winning $150+ stuff for playing games? Yes please.

Can't wait to turn 21 and get my own house somewhere near either E3 or Comicon.

Too bad I hate all the states that they host the events in. :/

Your team doesn't sound very coordinated, it sounds like a well coordinated team could clear this in 10 minutes less.
