i'm gonna get a team together with 4 claymore or krysae GI's and beat this on the first attempt when the dlc drops, that class with level 3/4 equipment is just easy lol mode engadged no matter who you're fighting.

Platinum will be an interesting class with non infiltrators though as you have to fight all 3 factions at once. Usually I prefer certain weapons and classes vs cerberus and geth and other vs reapers. Platinum will make some of the stuff I like to use that are only good against one or two factions like the falcon and asari vanguard obsolete I think.

You didn't pick a Earth character? I guess it makes sense to pick one you know will work in Platinum.

I wanted to assure victory, then experiment with the new options.  Unfortunately I only got to play a coupla times, so there wasn't much of an opportunity for experimentation.

Yeah, I suspect the same.  Characters who are relevant only against one or two factions will probably take a significant hit to their tier in Platinum.  Consider for example that Geth are always showing up to stunlock your non-rolling characters, or that many characters seem to be balanced with the idea that they'll be specialized to fight the faction they're up against (taking evolution options to excel against a certain defense, or to affect organics or non-organics, or whatever).  By contrast, Geth Infiltrators don't really care which faction they're fighting.

I'm worried about this too.  Characters who have to make
"faction-specific" build choices to be relevant will probably take a
significant hit in Platinum, whereas characters who perform more or less
equally well against all factions are rewarded.

Other than the FQI, I have to agree with you. Adepts  will see more use too, whereas the Vanguard class as a whole will take a huge hit. The Justicar and GE will see a lot of activity on my part though.

I'm pretty sure most players are going to do the same thing for the first run, I know I will. It doesn't take much of a brain to figure out that if you want to beat platinum on your first try, you better use your best class and best gun-just as GP did.

Would it really matter if players do not have all maxed out ultra rare weapons? You yourselves have said that you did not want them superior, and in many cases, the ultra rares hardly are superior as well. The only real superior weapon type in the Ultra Rare cathegory is the Harrier, which trumphs all the Assault Rifles (and the Hurricane, though that is Promotional), meaning there is very viable Sniper Rifles, Shotguns and Pistols in other rarities (although good alternatives do exist in the Ultra Rare cathegory).

Fact of the matter is, most of the strongest guns do exist in the Rare cathegory and many people have those maxed now, and as a result, either has tons of money stockpiled to get the new mods, or have enough consumables to bash their heads into this wall called platinum. Besides, some players around here are awesome at making magic come to life with their characters.

is a PINK Cerberus Assault Trooper, with the Health of 42,000, he can throw nades and execute and has the SAME weight value of a normal assault trooper, but there can only be one at a time in each map wave

Dude that's awesome man congrats. We should play sometime. It's hard to get my friends off of silver and the occasional gold and it be nice to play with someone who knows what they're doing.

That's not all that will hit the Vanguards.  There are tons of giant boss enemies, and most Vanguards (not the Phoenix one) are not particularly good at dealing with them.  Moreover, there are a lot more things that will sync kill you, and Vanguards are the most vulnerable to sync kills.

I don't think in Platinum a good player should be able to carry. Everyone should have to be exceptional players to achieve success.
If someone can complete Platinum scoring less than 30k. That's just not right.

Well, whether it should or shouldn't be so, I can at least confirm that carrying is a possibility on Platinum.  For example, on a failed attempt, I got to wave 9 Platinum with a player who said that they had never played ME3 multiplayer before.

I guess it depends what you mean by farmable.  I think it's doable.  I suppose it's just a question of how lazy you can be while doing it.  At least I don't think FBWG will be something 5 year olds could get 2nd place on the scoreboards on a successful Gold mission by handing them a controller and telling them to mash B for 20 minutes (Yes, I actually ran a test like this).
