I'm playing a lvl 17 DW warrior myself right now he has 65STR 37DEX and he actually never really gets hit or hurt in the 1st place anyway , though he is wearing Evon the greats mail and thats on nightmare mode

He actually never even comes close to being killed , and has only been killed once the entire game , and that was very early on in the game prior to actually having a healer

Putting all your points in DEX is really not a good idea , and daggers don't actually swing any faster than swords

Eh well my character got killed for the 1st ever legitimate time but it was against broodmother on nightmare but I have my excuses! Alistairs a ****ing moron who never taunts , I taunted but this one shade wouldn't get off of Wynnes ass and it managed to kill her really fast THEN the stupid broodmother did that grabbing thing and killed my character (can't drink potions while your being squeezed by a freak monster)

Think like with any 'grabbing' situation if Alastair was still alive you could probably have got him to try get you released by shield bashing the thing grabbing. Never had the situation where been able to test that myself yet though.

I have one of my tactics on Alastair of "Ally: Grabbed - Shield Bash", which means if another member is being grabbed he'll go shield bash them to try setting them loose.

Well, it is either that or "Enemy: Grabbing - Shield Bash"

A duel dagger wielding warrior sounds like an interesting build. Light or medium armour pumping dex. and str. 2:1 and with the reduced fatigue cutting back willpower needs. Maybe a splash of cunning for penetration. Skilled up in poison could do some serious damage.

Might not be optimal but can't see why it wouldn't work.

It would probably work for someone with bit more experience than OP. Its his first PC and first playthrough and he lacks some basic undertanding of game mechanics. He made "challenging" toon out of ignorance, not because he actually wants challenge.
He made several posts where he demands from Bioware to make easy difficulty even eaiser because its too hard for him.

Oh I see.

Saying that maybe its a happy accident. I think I might give it a go with a grubby casteless dwarf.

well the whole str-dex thing is different than in other games, as is the function for willpower and such. i experienced myself how a lot of the difficulty mainly results from making "bad" level choices because the relations between stats are not quite clear at first sight and quite different from other games i played. it works once you get the whole picture nevertheless but my first run was pretty hellish without a tank and mages causing friendly fire on normal setting ... if they were not chased down and killed right away. i never had thought that a single fight could take hours to win in a game... eventually you get so used to this stuff that you can win the same fight in a few minutes though
