This is something I actually would've expected in the first place. It definitely needs to be implemented, even if it's just on the ME website.

A counter would be nice.

Bioware already explained several times, that this is not possible. They don't monitor the data in real time. The data get's collected once the event is over.

I have been talking about this idea for like the past 2 months haha

I think it would be awesome!

Would think it would motivate some people a little more if we knew where we stood. Just like a military has their sit reps

POLL here
http://social.biowar...45/polls/36898/

If there was a 'how many full extractions left til goal complete'
ticker/counter somewhere, Would you be more willing to work at the goal?
(assuming this type of thing would be shown during each Operation Weekend, and also show whatever else the Allied goal would be (ie. Trooper kills, Phantom kills etc)

Some
people might be LESS motivated to play, once the goal is reached, but
some people would be MORE motivated to play, since they see there is
work to be done?

Also bear in mind, people like seeing the
effects of their actions, if a ticker keeps counting up, there is a
constant sense of accomplishment and satisfaction!

Do you think BW chose to hide the numbers from us, or simply didnt think to add the feature?
Why would they hide it?

Yes, I fully support such a counter, either in-game, or on the bioware website.

Which gets a little confusing considering our manifests can be updated hourly. Bioware just seems like they built themselves into the worst situtations programming wise and took every one-way shortcut.

I really hope someone is taking a big list of notes and making giant posters to hang around the office for IF they ever make another MP driven game.

I actually do not require a counter to encourage me to strive for the goal, but it would be helpful to see how far/close to completion we are. If I am starting to feel burned out playing, but I see we are oh so close to making it, it would motivate me to soldier on rather than just quit and hope for the best.

It would be nice to see the progress.
But theres a problem: Playernumbers, and with that two following ones:
a) Game-companys dont want us to see real playernumbers at all (for whatever reasons)
B) noone wants to see declining activity-numbers, which leads to a "swarmintelligence" driven player dropout (which can be seen esp. in the MMO sector).

i'm not a programmer, so i can't judge on that matter. but i definitely agree with the posters. ME3 mp has some serious issues, that should be fixed if they made another multiplayer game. starting with the lack of a decent lobby system and dedicated host servers.

It would help getting goals done. And it would feel more like a game and less like an obligation. But it shouldn't be too exact. Some crude gauge that would effectively lie to you all the time, but still indicate the goal has or hasn't been met, but wouldn't tell you it was met until it was met some chunk past the amount, say 5 or 10%. It would rile people up near the end of it for sure.

It should show up under the character name and amount of credits you have. It's definately a good idea.

Would be great but it will never happen. BW decides if we fail or win. The Operations have nothing to do with real stats. Thats why the Allied goals are pointless. A Ticker would be really motivating, yeah but could still be manipulated the way BW wants the Operation to go.

Hmm this could be true too... as depressing as it sounds.

What you say reminds me of Dungeons and Dragons, where the GM would often withold dicerolls for enemies from the players eyesight, because sometimes they wanted to keep things c hallenging when the dice would decide otherwise (or vice versa, if the dice kept rolling 6,6,6,6, the good GMs would intervene as to continue stringing out the gamers and not let them be destroyed)

It'd be nice if at the end of the day they told us how many we had so far. I think that'd be easier to do for them and still have a similar effect.
