Fair enough, it just feels like a bad thing to assume. I mean, other companies that have had issues such as this, were there ever hard questions really asked? When Blizzcon comes up will people be up in arms over Diablo III, as an example.
It just seems like if they are screening questions, and its a common thing for all panels, its likely no one has even asked the questions you want them to ask, or even care to ask them since they are in public. thats my guess, at least.
Ask any retake member current or former what happened at PAX east. When numerous individuals arrived wearing Marauder shields T shirts they were not allowed in. May not be screening questions but its damn close, or worse.
As far as screening questions itself it might be a "common practice" but no company blatantly ignores the issues with their product like this. I don't care if they don't let anyone ask a single question, and they talk for fifteen minutes but they should discuss the endings in further depth than the simplistic dismissal they've given frequently throughout this thing which chalks up to "Fans interpreted this all wrong"
See, the Marauder Shields thing I heard about before, but considering how volitle the entire community was at that time, and the threat of protest was around (and yeah, I know retake people said they didn't want to do that, but then I warned that it took just a few people to ruin the movement , but I digress).
That said, this is a strange situation all around, so I hope we get answers. But I think BioWare already said their peice so it might not get anything else out of it, at least, thats how I see it at the moment.

Nothing was asked or discussed about IT, I think they just assume it not exist at this point.Conniving_Eagle wrote...
So does the fact that they didn't answer any real questions reassert the validity of IT?

About the only thing they can do now to salvage this thing is to call the ending a dream, and write a completely different ending that makes sense and sell it as DLC. But they won't because Hudson and Walters have this dream going that their ending is the bestest art evar.
It was already salvaged with the EC. The majority of folks have accepted the gesture and moved on, it's only the rabids that continue to fight on now.

Yet you act as if someone doesn't confirm or deny something is a bad thing. I'm pretty sure you haven't been at a Comic-Con before based on how a certain thing is answered with a "we will neither confirm nor deny" comment especially with the Movie Industry.Reptilian Rob wrote...

However, if you read the transcript or were at the panel it is obvious that IT is not what they intended nor consider a canon ending like the four given.

I would have liked a renegade option to let Dr. Cole take a bullet. Or to fake fixing one of the AA towers (renegade + 25). femSheps really got screwed.
Did we get anything productive out of SDCC? No. What did we get? The big middle finger.

Hardly salvaged. No longer one of the worst literary pieces ever made in any medium? Sure. But as far as replayability goes (ME's staple selling point) even a good portion of the people who like the EC can hardly bring themselves to play it again. Let alone the people who as you say have moved on and probably haven't even looked at the game again.

The evidence is that no hardball question has been asked at any of the public outings. Seems impossible without screening the questions? But I admit that's not absolute proof.

I've seen it happen to numerious companies. Companies come under a ton of fire for poor choices and things going horribly wrong. And those companies take the fire. So far, Bioware has been trying to make sure they don't have to take it. How else do you explain no one mentioning anything related to "Mess Effect 3".
I don't know, getting over it? Stopped caring? Considering it seemed like two of the questions posted earlier revolved around Mass Effect 3, its not like they are not answering questions.
And what companies have been grilled at a comic-con panel, im curious?
Blizzard got tore up at comic con by a super-nerd fan who called out the producers for making a huge mistake in the World of Warcraft lore, about some blood elf.. it was such a huge call out that it was featured in the mainstream news. The producers were like uhhh...yeah you're absolutely right we will fix that. I don't have the link but I saw it on the news.

Never going to happen. Bioware aren't going to allow you to just gun down a pregnant woman in a fit of jealousy, and rightfully so.

Blizzard has no artistic Integrity whatsoever. Art does not require proper continuity. That kid simply didn't get Blizzard's artistic vision.

The sad part is, what I know about Blizzard and WoW, the little that I do, says this is true, because they ruined a LOT of the lore of Warcraft with WoW.

Isn't that what the extended cut is? Isen't that them saying "ok, we will add stuff to the ending because people didn't like it." Asking them to own up to making a mistake when they already fixed the said mistake is looking for a pound of flesh to be satisfied.

First they give us the breath scene and tell us to speculate. Then they tell us that the breath scene means that Shepard survives. Then the EC comes out, and we see our LI not put Shepard's name up, then we get the breath scene and it's said we get a reunion. Now we're told it could be Shepard's last breath again and to speculate. That to me is the big middle finger.
I'm calling it like I see it. The ending is one of the worst written endings I've seen or read. When you leave a trilogy up to a person to head canon, it shows you don't know how to write an ending, or that you just don't give a ****.
The ending is still the biggest drawback of the series. The EC sweetens it, but you're still left with a bitter aftertaste because Mac has to have his Red Green and Blue art.

What's the point of an apology if they don't mean it? I'd find that *more* insulting tbh...
