Do you keep a "signature weapon" for your character(s)? For me it's Yusaris, a sword once owned by a legendary Fereldan hero.  I use this sword for most of my 2h warrior wardens (because it's really good for if you get it early), but in my headcanon it belongs to my city elf.
It's also one of the two swords on the main menu screen, together with Sten's sword, which is part of why I like it so much. It's like Yusaris is the offical sword of DA:O! [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/smile.png[/smilie]

So do you have a signature weapon? Just wondering if anyone is doing something similar to me. :P

Oh, nice question. ^_^

When I think about it, each of my Wardens is different. Some have a trademark weapon; for some weapons don't matter that much as long as they work well. Depends on the type of a character I decide to roleplay.
My current Warden is a Dalish Elf and she's a snob when it comes to weapons and armour. She will only use her dual Dar'Misu... and Falon'Din's Reach in case the enemies are far.
My Human Noble never stopped using the Family Sword he had saved from the family vault. It's not the best weapon in Ferelden but it was special to him. He was a dual-wielder, as well, so it wasn't such a problem. He grew quite fond of the Topsider's Honor later in the game though.
My other characters didn't really have a signature weapon. My City Elf kept dragging the sword borrowed from Duncan quite a long time though (it was driving me mad I couldn't give it to Alistair when... well, you know ). But I can't really say it was "her" weapon.

My Human Nobles use the Axameter usually. It's pretty good and easy enough to trigger the event if you're dedicated to get it. For role-play reasons of course, whoever has the axe becomes king of Thedas. Which is how ambitious I play my male HN wardens.

My Dwarven Commonor rogue usually uses Bregan's Bow throughout the game. To remind her that even the greatest among us has weaknesses.

My City Elf uses Olaf's Cheese Knife and Eamon's Shield. He's a bit of an unorthodox fighter, and I though a cheese knife was the best way to exemplify that.

Interesting question - it would be a crossbow, actually, rather than a specific "legendary" item.

As a matter of fact I do, my human noble DW Warden always uses the Keening Blade. Even in Awakening, despite there being better weapons there. Just stick 3 Paragon frost runes on it and you're good to go. I like the way you obtain it, I like the look of it and I like the item description.

Once my CE Warden got ahold of Fang, he never let it go.

I like Topsider's Honor and the other blade is sometimes a mod sword, but right now Starfang is the other.

I like Maric's Blade, and the nice stamina regen bonus when used with Cailan's Shield. My S&S wardens are just finishing what Cailan set out to do, by killing the Archdemon with Maric's sword.

Despite the other fancy upgrades in Awakening, my human noble stuck with Cailan's gear all the way through Witch Hunt.

I use the Cousland Family sword because I'm original like that.

I haven't fully played through any other origins though. I'll come back if Solona gets a nice staff or something.

For my Rogues; Rose's Thorn, Fang (for my CE's) and Olafs Cheese knife (how can I not have a blade called Olaf's Cheese knife...my rogues are "spritely".... :D

For Warrior (DW and S&S) Oathbreaker, then Keening Blade....soft spot for them.

For 2h Warriors....well, I never really play 2h's, so....whatever looks good, I give to Oghren and Sten.

For Mages probably obvious; Spellweaver..Weeeeeee!

My poor Dalish never got to the part where I would have started thinking about this before I deleted him :/ My second character, Kail, a HN, used Starfang as soon as he got it and I like to pretend that he still had it during Witch Hunt -- that was *his* sword. Similar for my third character, another HN -- Cathal, who also kept using the Shield of Highever until Awakening, where he eventually settled for the Landsmeet Shield after cycling through some others. All of them had the Cousland Heraldry applied, though. He also cycled through swords and while he liked Vigilance, he prefers Starfang; I haven't really thought up a reason for him not having it in Awakening, though. Maybe he lend it to Zev or something.

My fourth and canon character, Shea, yet another HN, started using two handed swords after the Cousland massacre -- he'd been told they might suit him better before, but since Father preferred sword and shield, Shea had wanted to fight like that as well. After, in his mind, miserably failing to protect his family, he resolved to only fight at his best from now on and not let such sentiment pull him down (he still did plenty stuff out of sentiment, some of it plain stupid, though...) and switched to two handers, which he found to feel surprisingly natural and easy to use.
He kept the Chasind Flatblade until he got Yusaris, which became his default sword, though he switched to Ageless when there were a lot of Darkspawn around after acquiring it. He also used the Family Sword and Shield to fight Howe and always had them in the secondary weapon slot all the time.
Once he got Starfang post Landsmeet, he only used that; I think he might have chosen to leave it at home for Anora's protection while he was gone, it being a powerful one of a kind sword made by a master smith and all. He switched back to Yusaris (+ Ageless) until he got Vigilance, from which point on he only used that. It never meant as much to him as Starfang, though.
He also had a signature armour -- after getting Cailan's Armour post Landsmeet he put it on for the final battle and then kept all the way until the end of WH. A prince-consort needs kingly armour after all c;.

My fifth character, Evan Amell, doesn't have signature weapon -- he just uses whatever powerful staff he finds. He does have the Ancient Elven as his signature armour though. Similarly my sixth character, Dargan Aeducan, who is of the opinion that as long as weapon or armour is functional, it's good. ...Were he not a a dual-wielding rogue, he'd probably still use the Aeducan family shield, though. My seventh character, Farren Amell, is the same, but he'll have a thing for Starfang and Spellweaver. ...Not sure which I'll use yet. But that's more because he likes good swords, especially Longswords.

Cian Cousland on the other hand will never stop using the Family Sword, ever. Don't even think of trying to take it away or talking him into using something better. Family Sword it is. He'll likely like Starfang a lot, though, since it'll be his very own sword as opposed to being a memento and heirloom. He also has the ancient elven as his signature armour.

Geralt Caron, mage of the Orlesian variety (and somehow known to Anders from the Circle...), uses whatever is good and doesn't let sentimentality get in the way. I kind of want him to have an item very important to him, though... He's getting a backstory surprisingly quickly, especially considering that I made him on a whim and had never expected to ever even play an Orlesian :|
