Hey all.  I need some advice on Reaper Gold for this weekend.  Me and a few other people were playing the Reapers on Gold at Hydra last night and we kept getting overrun on Wave 8. Some advice would be helpful and leave the snide remarks elsewhere.  Thanks <3 <3

AP ammo Level IV helps big time regardless of the gun you're using. I like running the Geth Infiltrator with a claymore (damage barrel, smart choke) cloa, fire, repeat. Works like a charm.

I was using a Pheonix Adept and another player an Asari Justicar between the two of us biotic splosions for all! lol :o

I think we were forgetting our missiles half the time :pinched:

There's a few threads around where people are offering help.

That said? You just have to be confident in your chosen class, or conform to say, 4 Biotics for endless explosions, something like that.

As for Map...it's debatable. A thread is knocking around asking what Map people thought was best for Reapers Gold. Pretty much EVERY Map was mentioned :'3.

Infiltrators and choose races good against armor. Cloak the banshees and blast everything else to bits.

Play with classes and weapons you know you can do well with, but remember, all weapons aren't created equal, even if it works well on silver. Bring a gun that can kill enemies fast, an avenger X isn't going to cut it.

Full equipment.
The increase in weapon damage with a Rail Amp and ammo power is staggering and will really help out less confident teams/players.

Dying a lot?
put on a cyclonic modulator.

Mobility
, move around the map, but don't forget to kill the enemy. An inexperienced player running around with a poor weapon will not stop to kill the marauder in front of him when kiting a banshee. which will mean longer waves and eventually more time for you to get marauded or hugged.

And most importantly
in my opinion: Do not bring a friend who is out of gel or unwilling to use them.

The number one reason for wipes on gold by far is people rushing in to pick each other up when they should have gotten the hell out of there.

I'm using a Pheonix Adept now which I adore and am so much better at using than my geth infiltrator (love hunter mode) unfortunately.  I have the wraith equipped but it's only at lvl one since I haven't played in a few months and the geth smg for quick swarmer kills.  I don't have much in the way of equipment because I haven't played in such a while.  Been buying jumbo packs to catch up.  I just started back up on MP a few days ago.  I started with bronze to warm up then moved up to silver and really really want to finish at least one gold reaper this weekend. :crying:

I will be doing a few pug runs soon, so if you are on PC you are welcome to join.

edit: I looked at your manifest. I think your Talon I is the better choice. But that might be because its by far my favorite gun in the game. I use it on most of my builds, lol.  It does provide better recharge though and its generally easier to use than the Wraight.

I was always an AP ammo guy for all factions, but Cryo is your bud for Reapers.

justicar/drell adept, any class with warp , Cerb vanguard, and an infil.

This is a pretty good team , and people will have fun playing them.

Cryo ammo is just lackluster on gold. Theres just not that many enemies that will actually freeze and the damage boost you will get from basically any of the other ammo types will really help out against those big armored reaper baddies.

2 justicars + human adept + trigger-happy ex-cerberus adept = double-bubble biotic trouble

Control Room far left corner of the map, from Landing Zone. Best position by far on Hydra.

I started writing a reply recommending certain specific builds for use against the reapers, but you don't have the right gear and weapons to pull them off. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
