I've just started replaying DA:O and have to say that the theme song and various music throughout the game provide the epic and on-point emotional connection to the game.
Dragon age 2 did not do a bad job, but in my opinion was still overall sub-par or maybe just didn't quite fit with the cartoonish look of DA2.
What can we expect from DA3's music?

I didn't hear anything really "epic" in DA2. There was a recurring
theme, but it didn't do much for me. I never could hear what was playing
during battles because of the noise of the AoE spells!
