Ok, now we've got exploding sniper rifles, the Finger of God (Reegar), and the Hurricane that is the ultimate in mass weaponry...

So when the Assault Rifles going to get some love?  and I don't mean another stupid grenade launcher that won't work if you have even a LITTLE lag.  I mean a freaking slug throwing, monster killing assault rifle.  Not some fancy little gimmick weapon.

I'm tired of those, let's get back to basics.  Give me a reason to pick up a weapon that requires a little more effort than waving it at an enemy.

They should've left the Revenant as top dog as it was back in ME2 but NOPE. Better nerf it hard since all classes can pick it up now.

The harrier is a godsend in that regard, the only problem is the fact that its an UR. Took me ages to get one. But it tears stuff apart fast, save for the low spare ammo, it is still spectacular.

I tried it on m getf infil, but I felt ashamed afterwards, I could simply camp the ammo box at FB hydra and act like a turret of death. The other players didn't have much to do.

Sure do see a lot of Harriers around, throwing large amounts of lead at enemies.

I still LOVE the Mattock. It just feels natural. I guess it helps that I have fast fingers from years of playing paintball.

Besides, your 'special' guns are driving me nuts.  Gets real old picking up idiots with Reegar Carbines because they think it makes them a minor diety and forget to clear the corners before sprinting past in Gold.  Whoops dead.  Whoops dead.  Whoops dead...  3-4 times of that and _I'M_ tempted to stomp them

The Gimmick guns are promoting a solo/elitist attitude in people that couldn't carry their own weight without them, it's embarrassing.

Its a shame you feel that way.  I love the harrier, I love the Mattock.  If I couldn't choose one, I would choose the other.

Take a look at my Sig... until recently the Rev was my only weapon for delivering serious abuse.  Swapped to the Phaeston recently, been getting good results.  From what I'm seeing however, Nothing matches a Reegar...  and mine is only II

The real problem for us newbs is that no assault rifle is going to be good until we can level them up... I have the Mattock 1 I love it but man even on bronze I have to unload a but load onto the targets to get the kill...

Main Turian Sentinel here.

My favorite assault rifles are in order

Long range map: Vindicator

Short Range:Avenger/Phaeston

Medium Range: Harrier

All other assault rifles suck. Warp set to increase damage taken by target + Assault rifle = fun

Edit: Reason why the Rev sucks isn't the fact that it handles like crap, or the damage is bad. it's the god damn Reload time. Every other Assault rifle is damn near instant, this one has an extra 0.5 seconds reload on it. Doesn't sound like much but it feels so slow compared to any other assault rifle.

To counter your argument, yes the rev takes a long time to reload, but how often do you need to reload? The harrier,mattock and others do reload quick but you have to do reload more frequently. Look at the Saber, yes the reload time does take a while, and you only carry 8 rnds per clip(14 with extended clip). But is it one of the most powerful of assault rifles? Balance my friends, balance.

The Harrier is an utter beast of a gun. It's only downside is it's low ammo cap.

From ARs i like Mattock and Revenant. Mattock needs fastshooting, but then recoil decrease it's accuracy against small targets. Revenant has totally big recoil, without power increasing rate of fire and stability it's ineffective (you have to use it from behind the cover).

Now I use Harrier. The ammo capacity is really annoying, I have to run to the boxes 4-5 times each wave. When there's hacking objective my only hope are Thermal Clip Packs. And this ruins the fun like with Javelin - "Okay, let's balance this making it useless".

Hurricane goes down as practically the single worst weapon in my entire manifest. The insane rate of fire is all but useless due to the muzzle climb when firing. I guess it's okay if you're shooting a Brute at point-blank but at any other range you'd be lucky to hit the broadside of a barn.

I'd rather use the Kishock. Actually scratch that. I'd rather use the Harrier. And that's precisely what i'll do.

When speaking in terms of balance it's important to note that you not liking the feel of a weapon or not being able to handle it's recoil is not a factor to how good the gun is overall. 


The Hurricane is one of the best weapons in the game. Like it or not.
