Harrier is that gun

Harrier is good but it's no hurricane.

You're right.  It's much better.

The long-needed AR buffs really need to happen before Platinum comes out. Too many AR's are useless on Gold as it is, so the thought of using them on Platinum is a bad joke.

I love my AR's on my soldiers. Seriously all of my soldiers have them. Human-falcon, Batarian-mattock, Turian-phaeston, and the vorcha takes what he wants (usually Phaeston to complement flamer). Point being, they are very usauble on silver if you want a challenge. I don't play gold much though. That doesn't mean that the guns are useless, but they require lots of manuevering and time out of cover, so they become somewhat obselete on gold, for all but the gods of AR users. The only section of the game that would become unbalanced if every/90% of these rifles were buffed is bronze, and I see no problem in that.

ARs worth using: GPR,Strike

Wat

GPR has a huge clip, exceptional accuracy and recoil, a great ROF, low weight, and a higher DPS than the Avenger.  It's an incredible caster weapon which does great with headshots.  Main weakness is obviously bosses + armor, but on the few "tough" enemies that have weak points you can exploit that heavily, or you could use powers, given that the GPR's weight is so low (especially at higher levels).  The high ROF allows for easy application of Ammo Powers, meaning that the GPR is great at setting up and detonating a variety of combos.

As far as the Striker is concerned, it's like the Falcon with a higher DPS, smaller AOE (I think, haven't tested) and higher recoil.  Even though the Stability Dampener is practically mandatory on this weapon, it isn't a huge problem given that there are only two attachments worth considering for this weapon otherwise, Damage and Ext. Mag.  If your class is relatively frail, go Damage, or if the class is relatively hardy, go Ext. Mag.  You're outpacing the Falcon in terms of damage while applying ammo effects just as well, if not better.  A little bit of icing on the cake is that the Striker is able to stun unshielded enemies, which is very helpful.  (The Falcon can stun unshielded and shielded enemies, and IMO that's the main reason to pick that weapon over the Striker.)

Hopefully those two paragraphs were a convincing argument as to why those two weapons are top-tier assault rifles. (not necessarily top-tier among all weapons, given how relatively underpowered ARs are compared to Shotguns, HPs, SRs, and some SMGs)

Maybe. But you could get something more useful when your lower tier stuff are maxed. You could get consumable III's rather than just useless blue / silver character cards.

Fair enough, ya talked me into it.  lol  Not like the Vet packs are really that expensive.  3 per Gold match and that's most of what I'm doing this weekend.  And I do like those type 3 ammo mods.

Call me crazy, but I'm a fan of the Particle Rifle.

Immense accuracy, recharging ammo, and it can melt faces pretty well with the headshots.
Add a piercing mod, and it'll go through enemies, and obstacles to hit people behind them.
Definitely add a magazine upgrade for some extended beam fire.

Forget the stability mod. It has no recoil.

Scope? Can't say you need it.

Incendiary rounds seem to be a good boost for it.

It's kinda like the GPR, a weapon I appreciate, in the regards that it has built in mods freeing up use for others.

Yeah, it's not gunna hit a person like one of the high powered, slow firing weapons, but it can sustain fire to kill multiple enemies in close proximity of eachother, and put the hurt on Reavers, and Brutes.

Banshees? Not so much, I think.

It's not for everyone, but give it a try.
