It's too bad the BBC has the police box trademarked. It would've been an awesome little easter egg to have the TARDIS parked somewhere in London.

As I understand it, the police tried to fight it, but the court sided with the BBC stating, that A: the police didn't actually use them anymore and more people associated them with Doctor Who than with their original function, and B: If they really had a problem with it, they should've tried to trade mark it themselves back in 1963 when the show started.

We had a police box in town for donkeys years shoved into a corner in town it was painted grey. The local council in their great wisdom scrapped it.
