It ran without issue until I installed the first patch. The 1.01 patch introduced random crashes while loading a saved game. the save was not corrupted, since restarting the game usually loaded that save.
The memory leak problem started after the 1.02 patch. The game now randomly freezes on the loading screen, all hard drive activity stops and the loading screen stays on screen until I use the task manager to stop the game. I have an AMD Phenom II x3 720 with 4G memory and a 8800GT video card running Windows XP.
Is this a problem anyone else has seen? Are the patches making the game less stable for anyone else?

No problems at the moment although crashes are now more often unlike the unpatched version. /facepalm

I seem to be crashing a lot since 1.02 as well. Random crashes, no common activity or location.

Same for me actually...in a sense. Without the patches my game ran perfect, but you know, i'm a patch fanatic and think that the more i patch, the better the game will be! Well, i now get sound problem in the game. Like, still runs perfectly for the most part while i play but after a while, the sound kind of cuts out, or gets disturbed a little bit.I'm pritty sure its not my headphones or sound card, or a loose connected, as it seems to only happen after about 2-3 hours of playing (yeah, i kind of has a dao binge today).

Im in the same fix. Ran great from the box. I have only had problems since patching and they have got worse with each patch.

Yeah mine is crashing at random loading spots. Once with before a major fight (after cutscreen) loading up, never gets there.

They spent too much time nerfing and tweaking irrelevant matters and ended up giving us more bugs, i'm thankful i didn't patch tbh and hope that they don't force you to patch for DLC content.
The memory leak however was prelevant in all the versions of the game and i won't be patching until they release a patch that actually fixes that.

ugh, I think I'm going to rollback this last patch. This is terrible. I log in. First thing I do is leave camp and get the Zev encounter. I go to the cutscene afterwards and game slows...stalls...quits responding.

Same here, no more patching even if a new version is released or until the performance issues has been resolved. I will uninstall the game and decide whether to play it again. With its current state, its more of a pain to actually play the game now because there is this lingering anticipation on my part that whenever the game loads on an area transition a crash may happen and that could ruin my saved game.

I have completed the game at version 1.02 as a warrior without much crashes to desktop(max. 4 on 70 hours of play). Now, didn't patch, install or reinstall a thing and started a new game as a mage. after 1 hour of play, 3 crashes to desktop.
This just ain't feeling right. So not only patches make the game less stable. Maybe my chosen eyebrows are the culprit.
But hey at least they fixed rally for my stable warrior. Dear lord. By the time this is sorted out, i will be shopping for Diablo 3.

Ok, been searching the forums and can't find the info. Does anyone know how to rollback a patch?
(Edit: Without doing a total re-install)

I wouldn't be surprised if the answer was: "There isn't".
I reinstalled DA myself a few days ago because I was unhappy with patch 1.02 (more frequent crashes, task switching didn't work properly etc.).
Had very few problems with 1.01a in my first 2 playthroughs, and in my 3rd now I'm on version 1.01b I also have had very little trouble.
