I tried all those "methods" and I get the same screwy result. A page of what seems to be strange ascii text-like symbols, then crash.
I really do not like having to jump through hoops.
So this thing will just have to wait.

It works correctly from our site for everybody but you as far as we're aware, so unless we have any further complaints of our site mysteriously having the same issue as people have described getting with the vault I shall assume it is on your end.
Although I'll download firefox and check it out via that.

I just googled "firefox can't download files" and came up with a list of links - some old, some recent. I looked over a few on the Mozilla site and this seems to be a recurring issue with Firefox that keeps popping up. At some point or another they've had issues with just about every file type
Maybe Mozilla will fix it soon...

Oh yeah. I get that problem. [edit] mispoke. Its a problem with your PHP as you are calling the file from your database, not just a mime type problem. The stream of text needs to be understood as a file. I don't think the PHP is communicating this correctly for all browsers. I wonder if getting the right information is also network related, but anyway I'd have to dig into the code to figure it out, and I am not all that good with LAMP.
Not a big deal as I can download the file with a right click, but a bit annoying.

The main reason I dropped firefox was because it would never save the cookies right that told it my computer was a "safe" computer on my bank's website. Every single time I had to answer all these stupid security questions just to log in - got old after a week...
