Well, I played DA:O on a PS3 the first 9 times around. 3 years later though and i've purchased a gaming computer.

I wanted to play DA:O on a PC, as it has always appealed to me and it seems as if i'd enjoy myself more on a PC for obvious and not so obvious reasons.

However on the PS3 I purchased nearly all the DLC, save for the Morrigan one. I had all of it including Awakening.

My question is if I actually do have to buy everything all over again? So, all the money I spent on that doesn't transfer over for the PC version?

The game itself requires that you purchase a new license for a new platform. Whether the DLC will have to be purchased again I can't say. (Only have the PC versions.)

Thandal is correct - new platform requires a new copy of the game. This includes all DLC that is not free. Your best bet would be to pick up a digital version of the Ultimate Edition cheap. Steam is selling it for $14.99 until July 23rd. If you don't want to use Steam, you can use the virtual CD key you get from Steam to download it via EA Origin instead.

I don't know about the DLC either, but DA/UE has become relatively inexpensive. around $20 US. It just depends on where you buy it.

On the bright side - you can now download a LOT of free/unofficial DLC

RaenImrahl has the better deal - if you don't have a reason to not use the steam version, it seems the most economical.
