Were bound to visit the Chantry hq in Val Royeux in DA3. And since the devs the game is taking in places all over a lot of thedas including Tevinter. And the main story is about Mages vs Templars etc etc. Will be be visiting Minrathous? and seeing the Black Divine?. Was watching The Borgias tv show and Jermemy Irons would be perfect as a menacing religious leader.

I do hope to meet the black divine one day.
According to Asunder, the black divine tried to end the use of blood magic in the Tevinter, but ended up caring more about keeping his own power, himself turning to blood magic to do so.
Of coarse this was told my the mage distrusting head of the Templars, so it probably biased.
Still it would be interesting to meet a person who believes they are working for change, but really just working for the status quo.

As great as Jeremy Irons is, he would just repeating his role as pope Alexander VI.

What about Christopher Lee?

No... he may be better as the Archon.

Probably won't see the Black Divine personally, but learning more of Tevinter and Imperium Chantry (and the Chantry itself seems a given) would be nice.

I'm really curious of the Black Divine and the Chantry in Tevinter (well , i'm super curious about Tevinter...)
It would be great to see it in DA3 , though I guess Tevinter would require a whole game to really shine.

But the interesting thing is how the chantry faith works in a place that revere magic and still honour the old gods?
Does it works with a lot of hypocrisy , or is the Chantry there totaly different?
And does the chantry have any power ?
Seems like the magistrate do pretty much what they want.

It's doubtful many worship the Old Gods, as it was Dumat as the first Archdemon to almost destroy Tevinter and Thedas. May be some still around, but I believe most no longer worship the Old Gods. I can't remember where, but I think there was a codex that mentioned people destroying the altars of the Old Gods after their prayers to the other Old Gods to stop Dumat weren't answered, and that there were some (very few) people who actually made darkspawn cults.

Hope so, Black Divine and Schism fits M-T War just fine. He is the only power right now in thedas that can back Mages in their struggle and convert most of them to his cause. In fact that could be a nice quest line. Black Divine is directly interested in escalation of MT War so disillusioned and turned to Blood Magic will flock to Tevinter in search for refuge and vengerance.
And minrauthos as a safe harbour for apostates is ideal.

Tevinter does seem like it would act as a safe harbour for many mages, while Templars (loyal ones, that is) congregrate in Orlais as it's essentially the seat of power for the Chantry. Imagine having to pick between backing Tevinter or Orlais... there's a tough choice, I'd want to see both of them burn, but that's just me ^_^

I'm not sure Tevinter is a "sanctuary" for mages.
Magic is ok there , but there's a lot of competition.
If you're not a strong mage willing to do blood magic , you're not much worth...
I don't know much about the Black Divine but he could ally with refugee mages to overthrow magistrates.

But maybe the Divine from Orlais need the mages too , since it seems she lost her templar army.

It would be funny to watch both Divine fighting to get mages on their side.

I actually think the mages will end up fighting each other. There will be mages who are more than willing to kill Blood Mages if it means getting more freedom.

If we do meet the Black Divine, I'd hope they weren't played up as "menacing".

It's distressingly easy to conclude that Tevinters are Always Chaotic Evil as it is.

Tevinter is most highly ranked as the place fans want to see. They'll save it until last.

Before DA2, the Free Marches were ranked as one of the lowest.

Go figure. ;)

According to the codices, the Black Divine is also the Grand Enchanter. That is, the head of the Imperial Chantry as well as the head of the Tevinter Circle is a single man.

I think the Chantry has plenty of power. :P

We still haven't really seen the Free Marches, have we? We've seen Kirkwall, sure, but that one city is not representative of the entire area, I believe.

I want to see Tevinter, but I can almost guarantee that Minrathous WILL NOT be in DA3.

Minrathous is on the big spike in the greyed out area.   So unfortunately we won't be visiting it any time soon in the games.

There's always Dragon Age: Legends if you want more of the Free Marches than Kirkwall, I guess.

Since it appears that DA3 will feature both Orlais (Chantry) and Tevinter (Mages), I don't see why the Black Divine wouldn't make an appearance.  It will be interesting to see how everything turns out.

I think DA3 is going to focus on mage vs templars (kinda obvious) and also the fall of Orlais. Or if not the fall of Orlais, at least trying to keep the country from collapsing. Whilst the black divine appearing is certainly a possibility due to the mage thing, I think we'll go to Tevinter properly in DA4 or later, at which point I'd expect him to have a significant role.

Where does this image come from? Also, what is the context of it?

The current conflict, and some portions of Asunder, do make you wonder if we will see him soon...it seems logical.

Additionally, as someone who primarily rolls a City Elf Warden, I would like the chance to find/rescue the alienage elves who were taken as slaves to Tevinter/Minrathous. To me that felt like a large plot thread I would love to pick up.
