This has been brought up in the Mirimancer thread before. She doesn't do anything in ME3 when she was ME2's poster child and should have had a huge role in the Cerberus Arc.

Her survival of ME3 also has no pay off.

25 war assets to ex-cerberus. ^_^

I would sell my knowledge of Cerberus to the Alliance/Citadel Council in exchange for credits and amnesty. After the war is over, I would then take up residence at Cronos Station, sit in TIM's chair, and spend a good deal of my time drinking whiskey and communicating with my subordinates through holograms.

I'll back Bioware on this one. Making a character who can be dead vitally important to everything is just a massive punch in the face to anyone who killed her in 2.

It's already bad enough if Garrus is dead.

People like to say "Liara is Bioware's pet and so they made all the focus on her in ME3 with all the best scenes!" but the truth is she's the only person from ME1 who has to be alive no matter what... So it's not that much of a surprise.

Would you prefer James got all the cool scenes? Or for them to be missable?

1) Miranda was harder to kill in ME2 than any other character. If ANY character from ME2 should have been expected to compete with Liara for screen time in ME3, it would have been her.

2) I think very few people actually have a problem with Liara's screen time. We all know she was a major character and that is fine, but Miranda was HUGE in ME2 and it feels totally weird  that she got almost no screen time in ME3.

3) Miranda was extremely popular and James was not as essential to the plot as she was in ME2. We all know that romancers of James were screwed, but you hear very few complaints because relatively few people romanced James. Miranda, on the other hand, was a popular character and popular romance - again, it's just weird that she doesn't get more screen time or play a more important role in the main plot.

4) You can't go back and rewrite her in to the main plot, BUT I think it would be totally awesome to give her some more screen time in future DLC. Not a "romance DLC" as some have suggested, but just INVOLVEMENT in important story bits where it makes sense for her to be involved and, possibly, give Shepards that romanced her a little bit of love (kind of like the Shadow Broker DLC did for Liara).

Edit: I also want to say that, while I think the Extended Cut did a lot of things right. I found it totally weird that Ashley was the one holding my name and having that "I'm going to find him look" when it was really Miranda that should be the one looking for me.

What do you expect? They can't just magically have people teleport onto the Normandy.

That'd make no sense!

In that case we need EC: Par deux.
Miranda rides a Thresher Maw into battle and drags Harbinger away after he hurts Shepard.

It would be awesome if a Thresher Maw made it to the beam and had the endgame conversation with the Catalyst

If I was Miranda, I would not have done anything in ME3, as I died back in the Collector Base before Shepard blew it and my corpse to bits.

Someone really should start the "Don't Ash Me!" thread again seeing as how they locked that forum.

Is it just me or does Miranda have a huge forehead?

I'd go buy Tech Armor or learn how to perform Barrier.

Every Sentinel should have a damage reduction power, but she's a Sentinel and she doesn't (hell, even Kaiden has Barrier).

Do you think that Miranda had a reduced role in ME3 because of the suicide mission in ME2? It seems like that was the reason all ME2 squadmates got the shaft because they had to have a backup in case you got them killed in ME2. She should have had a significant part of the story regarding cerberus, but she just went to the shadows.

It's possible.  Although I think it's more she didn't want to put Shep at risk since Shep was off saving the galaxy while Miranda was focused on rescuing her sister.

The Suicide Mission was definitely a factor. I was still kind of shocked that there wasn't at least one ME2 character on the squad considering the ME2 crew was the only crew the PS3 players knew and had bonded with. I'd imagine the PS3 players accounted for a sizeable portion of the player base.

Perhaps she didn't really have an advocate on the design team who really pushed for her inclusion, like Tali did who I heard wasn't actually supposed to be a squad member.
