Fortunately there are plenty of female gamers and that number's increasing all the time.
I'd say what the world needs isn't so much more female gamers rather than it needs the gaming industry to catch up with reality.

Well said! They won't play it all if it's not equal, that's for sure...

I wouldn't say it's intentional but...yeah I don't know what ME3 did to the majority of female characters. The only ones who seemed to get away without being ridculously sexualized/carictualized are Liara (who they claimed isn't female) Tali (though I'm iffy on her behavior in ME2)  and FemShep.

I'd say Liara is oversexualized on the fact that her ****** are bigger than ever.

@Chu: Kasumi has a pretty creepy fixation on er dead boyfriend. But yeah for the most part she's not anywhere near as bad as some of the others.

What, are they still on the "Liara isn't female" line of crap? I thought they'd outgrown that.

I think they dropped that nonsense years ago. They only said it due to the whole FOX News "controversy".

Bioware wants their female fans to play as lesbians and I am not a lesbian I hate men but I am not a lesbian, while I do know some women like playing as lesbians not all do, yet the game gives me more lesbian options than male, real nice Bioware.

Both Garrus and Kaiden have more content than Samantha, Allers and Kelly together.

I think my view on Jacob romance being carried over can be summed up by how the one LI in ME2 who actually says 'I love you', asks about your problems, and otherwise is given the virtues of 'stability' is the only romance in the game to abandon you for someone else.

Jack sleeping around? Not out of character, so long as it didn't form an emotional connection. Miranda? She's always used all of her assets to her advantage. Tali? Let's not go there. But Jacob?

It's just one more of those evidences of how poorly planned the sequel to ME2 was, in how they created a product but had no idea how they wanted to carry it over.

Somehow I doubt people who actually play lesbian fem!Sheps would agree with that. I prefer quality over quantity when it comes to romances, anyhow.

I do feel for those who romanced Jacob, though - I really did not see that one coming. Also, those who played gay male!Sheps.

Or...you know, The fact that her romance scene features her fully naked (Not even Traynor in the shower got this. She had to shower in her underwear...) and also features Shepard thrusting and Liara haveing a....erm....What is it people call it now days? O face?

That picture is pure demagogy since you are comparing romances like femShep-Kaidan with others like broShep-Kelly/Allers to make that propaganda more eye candy.

I think the pic point is the broShep has all these options (male and female). All ME2 choices can be carried over into ME3, and none die or cheat on him.

Meanwhile femShep has two choices taken away by death or cheating, and gets new lesbian options instead of getting a new straight choice like Vega.

The new lesbian choices would have been fine if they were up to par like Cortez, but it wasn't. Poor Sam didn't even leave the ship.

And if you played a straight femShep who killed of Kaidan and didn't romance Garrus in ME2, you have no straight options. That's where the inequality comes in.

And even though Garrus and Kaidan's romance are great, it doesn't make up for the lack of choice. If they had kept Thane and Jacob, you could have had options like broShep. But instead if you want a straight romance in ME3 for femShep, you must romance Garrus and keep Kaidan alive.

As a female gamer I'm disappointed BW treated me this way. It's apparent I choice the wrong Shep to play, and if I chose Thane or Jacob as my LI, I did it wrong.

Not all the romances are really comparable. This is true. However, you can't ignore the inequality. Male Shepard has great romances also, but he also has a lot more choice in the more minor romances, and can also continue all ME2 romances (regardless of how good or bad they are) while femShep can not.

I can understand them wanting to give Thane a heroic send off, which they did (more unique romantic dialogue would have been great though...), but what they did to Jacob seems pretty harsh, whether he was popular or not. I can't understand their reason for doing this... And having more lesbian options then straight options for femshep doesn't seem fair. Especially when you consider that certain choices throughout the series could leave straight FemShep players pretty lonely in ME3...

First off, Jacob is just a character idea mouthing dialog stolen from pop culture ten years ago. He is nothing more than a shell. Secondly, if Ashley can urinate in your Wheaties as an LI then it is only equal time for BW to have the vapid Mr. Taylor do the same. If it is any consolation to you, Ash is just as vapid in ME3. At least Mr. Taylor didn't accuse you of being a traitor every time you turned around.

Unfortunately, knocking up another woman while Shepard was cooling her heels as an unwilling guest of the Alliance rivals the constant accusations of Williams as an annoyance. Perhaps you can request a renegade interrupt that allows you to place a bullet in Jacob's head when he informs femshep that he has gotten his girlfriend pregnant, Hell having no fury and all that. I know that putting my boot in Williams hind quarters to assist her off of my ship gives me a small sense of satisfaction.
