So, I bought Dragon Age today. I installed it and at first it worked great. I got through the human noble origin and loved it. I then decided to go for the human mage and that's when the trouble started. I had several hard lockups that forced me to restart my computer. I updated my NVIDIA Driver, but that didn't help. Eventually I decided to reinstall. I got halfway through the opening movie and the game crashed hard again. 

Now my computer won't even start up. I just get a black screen upon reboot. Now it looks like I need to take my computer in to be repaired, if that is even possible.  Just a cautionary tale for people. You might want to wait some time until there is a patch or people at least have workarounds for these problems before you install the game.

it sounds more like a video card issue to me if the computer turns on just fine but you get a black screen it has nothing to do with the game but probably your video card couldn't take the heat

you might wanna try calling up tech support for either your video card brand or the one for your motherboard before you waste time and money on a repair guy and point fingers at the game that just happened to be running when you had the issue
