Hurricane is sex. Light-weight CQC version of the Harrier w/ way more ammo due to the heat sink mod. Quite good. Once SMGs get the new AP mod proposed in the DLC, it'll be excellent even w/o AP ammo..
Valiant is nifty too- only sniper that makes me enjoy sniping.. somewhat.

Thanks for the advice TheNextPortNoy and Daihannya. I tried out the hurricane earlier with some of the things you suggested. Quite effective...dangerous to be that close to the reapers but it was ok. Managed to do gold challenge...just had problems extracting everybody. Did they make gold harder in the last few months?

Javelin - best boss killer in the game
Wraith - best light shotgun in the game, on a shotgun infiltrator can kill two shielded mooks per cloak cycle (if you're a good shot). Also great on Vanguards, and the Cerberus guys.
Particle Rifle - When used with a ton of equipment... it's serviceable... but I agree... not great.

The best sniper rifle is probably the Saber, 8 shots and more damage than the valiant or viper, and almost as much as the black widow and Krysae.  Though it is technically an assault rifle.  It is in reality almost a cross between an assault rifle, sniper rifle, and a shotgun.  The accuracy and amount of damage you can do is incredible.  I can easily get 10 or 20 head shots every game with it.

If it didn't weigh a ton, I would try it out more often.  Tricky accruacy though.  Kinda like it's so accurate that you can still miss your target.

Never had an issue myself, sounds more like a lag issue to me. Being an infiltrator sniper at heart, the crusader made the krogan (and to a lesser extent turians) much more playable for me, because of the high accuracy the crusader has. However I wouldn't use it over the GPS on a gold match, silver and bronze ok, but not gold

Valiant III- Good up to Silver, ammo & damage mods really help in Gold.
Hurricane I- Good in all modes, mods are just icing on the cake.


Both guns are awesome at X, really made going through single player on Insanity a breeze.

Hurricane is the only one that works for me, some of the N7's I find useless and should almost be common when it comes to punch and ease of use. As for the rest I am just plugging away at getting the level up, for collection only:)

N7 weapons are my Mass Effect pokemon. I gotta catch'em all.

Then level them up to max.

Do I use any of them? Not really.. tried the Valiant once, the super-fast reload was nice, but I'm more for 1 shot-massive dmg weapons. Not much for shotguns or smgs, and I haven't gotten the pistol yet.

For me its simple:
Hurricane is for my casters. A gun with DPS close \\ more than most UR guns on caster is good, and at III it gives me 180 cooldown.
Eagle is ****.
Crusader is ****.
Valiant is very good, but I don't like snipers.

I wonder if they'll stop doing comunity events some time after the last MP DLC and they just add the promotionals to Specter packs. Kinda hope so, otherwise its going to take me like a year and a half to max everything x.x only have 5 so far D:

Hurricane IV is beastly. Better than any other weapon on a Turian Soldier or Geth Engineer by a mile.

Crusader I is decent if you can hit those headshots constantly without resorting to easy mode Claymore sniping.

The Eagle is my favorite gun (of these four) to use, and I love me some underdogs.

The Hurricane has too wide a spread for my liking on any other character than the Turian Soldier, and using it on him I feel cheap, melting an Atlas that fast is just silly.

Nah, they didn't kick the difficulty up of gold, it's just the influx of inexperienced, or casual players hitting gold for the comm pack that has made it MUCH harder to get a halfway decent team on random.

On topic: I also fall into that minority of folks who havn't unlocked all of the promo n7s; the Crusader still eludes me, and I'm alright with that. Come on, Hurricane V!!!

I feel so sorry for you..even though you have a whole host of guns to choose from, but I understand that sometimes you get rubbish weapons after the weekend operations

It's all good.  I just keep telling myself, "maybe next time".  I hope to get it especially this time since I was trying extra hard to help those who never play gold and get full extractions.  I will admit, I am sick of fighting Reapers on Gold.

stability three. pick any class. use heat sink and ammo capacity. hold trigger buttton. very little recoil to compensate for. its beautiful.:happy:

I've got a Valiant I, Hurricane I and an Eagle I. No Crusader yet, though i'm not that fussed.

I'm a bit on the fence about the Hurricane. When I got it I immediately took it for a spin and found the recoil atrocious and the damage poor at range, which is where i'm normally fighting from.

However.

Earlier on I equipped it on SE for a FBWGG run, specced with magazine upgrade and superlight materials, which meant I could pack my Cerberus harrier as well and still afford to spam powers. I'm still not convinced that it's the best gun in the game - even in cover, the muzzle climb whilst firing is pretty bad, and even with the magazine upgrade it burns through the ammo - but i'm now more likely to pick it over my regular SMG, the Locust.

Valiant and Hurricane are usful but the Eagle and Crusader are useless as hell just like all the other black carded weapons .....

Also lol at poster above me for thinking ULM works when it is still bugged so it wasn't working for you on that Hurricane :innocent:

Valiant is my favorite SR, even including the Krysae. Hurricane is... I'd say it's my favorite SMG but that's not saying much. All the other SMG's blow like... well, like a hurricane ironically. The hurricane gun however is awesome. It's almost a reegar that can do a bit of damage at range in a pinch. Just a bit of damage but damage nonetheless.

The Hurricane and Valiant are both really good at level 1. One of my regular teammates has a Hurricane 4, and it's just obscene.
