Exactly. He will still be very good, no doubt. Can't wait to try him out.

According to reports, even the best shields go down instantly on Platinum (ME2 Insanity-like) so I don't think that is so strong a point. On Gold and below this class will mop the floor, Platinum, less so.

According to reports, even the best shields go down instantly on Platinum (ME2 Insanity-like) so I don't think that is so strong a point. On Gold and below this class will mop the floor, Platinum, less so.


Yeah, well, we'll have to wait and see I guess.

Like Stardusk pointed out, it may not mean much on platinum, but on gold a base shield value of 1000+ helps a lot. Not everything is a nemesis sniper shot that bring down your shields instantly, being able to absorb more marauder bursts and phantom palm cannon shots is useful.

Thats not even adding the Passive, Devastator, Modulater and gear bonuses.

You make it sound like we should just stand in the open getting shot.
Someone added it above and it came to 4k shields.
Thats assuming it follows the standard 65% from fitness.
It will be enough to move from cover to cover without getting downed.

Wonder if mag size increase for the soldier affects all weapons, or only those with rapid fire? It wouldn't affect weapons such as the Claymore and the Widow because from the looks of it you can't get a 100% mag size increase, but right now I'm kinda drooling over the idea of getting an extra shot and a higher fire rate for my beloved Wraith.

Claymore would still get a better ROF through faster reload. And there might be a minimal bonus so each weapon gets at least one extra shot.

Yeah, true, but with regards to a minimal bonus I suspect they haven't implemented this because of balance concerns. Not that I'm sure a two-shot Claymore would be extremely effective on platinum, but I'm pretty sure it would be better than most other options.

i'm excited about every character. except the sentinal lol. he has no biotic power just 3 tech powers and a shield that makes him immobile?

Don't get too excited. Odds are it won't get released with the Earth DLC (Dev accounts have everything unlocked).

Just cause it is unlocked does not mean it was not put there on purpose... which means there was at least some work, or at least consideration, of putting those weapons in MP.
Since those weapons are in SP, it's possible to add it to MP through a live change. I am not sure why the Particle Rifle needs Rebellion, unless they're doing the good ol' Halo 2 for vista BS.

thats about teh only instance i can see it usuable. its barely viable on silver. will need to play it with a strong weopn and rely on weapon not powers for kills. its powers are underwhelming

Well nobody has had enough time to fully test it out. I'm sure the geth engineer sucked until people found the best builds and weapons.

Most of the engineer and now part of the sentinel class are lacking a lot right now same with vanguard's the engineer's should have had traps and bigger better turrets instead of powers like incinerate and overload....

Diid you happen to see the paladins base shields and health?

The N7 Destroyer had 500/1000 Health/shields, thank you bioware, a "tough" soldier for plat!

Destroyer mode adds 40% shields on one of its specs. Assuming the Destroyer gets the standard 65% Fitness, that would put him at 105%, or 2050 shields!

Add on a stronghold or multicapacitor and that thing is unstoppable. 


Hardly. I'm guessing enemies on platinum will chew trough 2000+ sheilds pretty easily.

He will probably be very tanky on lower difficulties though, and a cyclonic 3 or 4 should make him fairly durable on platinum too.

I did only play 6 waves with it, dind't get to spec it or choose my weapons, and had to do 4 objects by myself w/o any help 9was on silver) while the other 3 just killed things lol. The shield did keep me alive a few times as i could use it while holding the package. It could be better then my inital impression but probably not

He really isn't much of a sentinel no damage reduction well I guess if you spec energy drain correctly
