If so, the shield would be really useful when trying to hold certain hack objectives and helping to revive teammates in heavy fire zones (someone goes to revive the fallen while you shield them both from fire so they don't get cut down). Or if you get caught by a burst of fire, turn and shield until it ends and then run for cover.

from what i've seen only a melee can break it. I took 3 geth prime shots with it and it didn't break but 1 geth prime melee broke it (w/o giving me any damage though) so seems like its mostly for guns. It can be handy when delivering a package and a prime or ravager is trying to dump on you

I use the arc pistol as a main weapon and it works fine for me so I'm sure this one will too.
