Is it possible to put Jowans face on your character? I saw the tutorial to put Duncans, but in the list of unique shapes, there's no  Jowan. I haven't installed the toolset yet.

If anyone could post a quick step-by-step, I would be very grateful (and amused while playing the mage origin).

Edit: if his voice can also be used, even better, heheh. :o

This should help you out, it has the source files for all of the main campaign characters, such as Jowan, Eamon, Greagoir, etc, etc.

Edit: then you can read this thread on how to put it into the game

http://social.biowar.../8/index/115064

Edit2: The voice is a little difficult, you'd have to open up the dragon age\\packages\\core\\audio\\vo\\en\\vo

and then find ss_jowan(this is his combat voice set), then you'd need to find your current character's voice set, which might be ss_pc_mhuman_mystic and replace ss_pc_mhuman_mystic with ss_jowan.

Allright, trying to get this to work.

Voice: made copies of ss_jowan.fev and .fsb and renamed them ss_pc_jowan. Used the toolset to edit the entries of the players voice (SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR->SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR->SAVEGAME_PLAYER_SOUNDSET and SAVEGAME_DEFAULT_SOUNDSET) in the savegame. No voice however.

The face works. I saved the .mor file and put it in both override folders (single player and package) and then changed the value in the savegame. I will post some screens from the origin later.

You don't need to use a .mor file in the override folder unless you want to change Jowan's face (like if you wanted to tweak his nose or something). You can use his head just by entering the head name in your save game file (the morph still exists - it's just not overridden). I'm using Irving's head on my second mage:

Edit: I just saw the link the first responder linked to, with the files. Those are also unnecessary unless you want to change the way the NPCs look. The way I find existing heads to use is in the toolset, I create a new character, and then choose a head for it. It shows a list of every head used in the game. You can normally just type "*jowan*" to find a head for an NPC named "Jowan."

Could you be more specific, sarahbau? I'm just glad I got it to work.

I also need help with the voice.

Sorry. I was at work when I responded, so I didn't
have the toolset in front of me. All of the existing in-game characters
are accessible without having to put anything in override. Basically
what putting Jowan's morph in override is replacing the existing Jowan
with an identical Jowan. Since it works, it's not really important
(though it might take longer to load the game when overrides are used.
I don't know how much of a difference it makes).

To replace your character's head with Jowan's without using an override, you can just open your save file, then go to SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR -> SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR -> SAVEGAME_APPEARANCE, and change SAVEGAME_APPEARANCE_MORPH_NAME to "hm_bhm100_jowan"

What I do to find the names of morphs (since they aren't all predictable), is I create a new creature, then go down to "HEAD_MORPH." I click on the elipsis, which brings up a list of all heads in the game. Then I just type the name of the character I'm trying to find, with asterisks on either side (wild card character). If I want Duncan's head, I type
"*duncan*" and it shows "hm_gen_duncan". Then I copy that name and
paste it into the SAVEGAME_APPEARANCE_MORPH_NAME field in the save file.

Edit: To replace your voice with Jowan's, in the same save file, near the bottom of the SAVEGAME_PLAYERCHAR_CHAR section, change both of the SOUNDSETs to "ss_jowan" (without the quotes). I just tested this and it works. It will work with Jowan since you are able to play with him in the mage origin, but most other characters might not have those sound files recorded.

Actually, when she first met my Jowan she said "a handsome lad like you", heh heh heh.

sarahbau: Thanks again, I will try it your way next, same with the voice. It had worked the first time I did it, although the head hadn't. When the head worked, the voice was gone.

Just a quick bump - sarahbaus instructions work like a charm! Simple is best.

The first battlecry I got was "Who wants their hair on fire?". Awesome ^^

Glad you got it working. I've been using Loghain's voice with my Irving mage (since Irving doesn't have a playable character voice). It seems to fit better than the wise human male voice.

^^

I'm pretty sure you can't because you have to have the dragon age toolset to make those characters.
