Why is the Blood Dragon Armor so Ugly?

I do not even touch it for any of my companions.
Sten - Juggernaut Armor
PC - Dragon Boneplate or Heavy armor
Alistair - Warden Commander Armor
I hope the devs take serious note here so that folks don't have this same experience with BDA in Mass Effect 2.
What a letdown I basically ignore that armor...

Except for the Bug with female elves and the helm the Blood Dragon armor looks great. And since I hate helms and the bug is fixed (either by the patch or one of the texture mods I use) both are not an issue. BDA = best armor ingame. From stats AND from looks.
It's certainly not the best in either way on PS3. The stats on it are far weaker than the xbox/PC versions for some reason.
And looks... it makes my human male look like he's pregnant.

I personally like it. My warriors usually wear it by level 5, then when I get Wade's Superior Massive Uber Dragon Armor I pass it on to Alistair.

You do realise that skintight heavy plate armor would completely render you unable to move. Not that zevran would mind.
As for the looks, it's pretty awesome. It's a magical DRAGONSLAYER armor, ofcourse it looks magical and unique. If anything disappointed me graphically it was the helm of the deep.
And for the stats? Well you have to put everything into building strenght for the first 9 levels in order to wear it? It's not like you can equip it from the get-go. This should be fun to try to equip on an arcane warrior.

It's not the fit of the breastplate that looks so weird... it's the goofy glowing heavyweight-champion-style belt. It looks weird enough on its own, but when you move it doesn't flex right and looks very weird. It sort of folds in the front like fat roll, and in the back it kind of waddles back and forth. Being that is is based on the dwarven armor, it might look better on dwarves I suppose. I might load up a save and see.
And it doesn't take much to wear it... my 2h warrior was able to wear it while he was still in Lothering, and there is certainly nothing comparable to it available at that point. It's no big deal though, I don't like that so I don't wear it.
The magical stats are pretty mediocre on the PS3. From what I've heard, they're pretty powerful on xbox/PC, so I might actually use it if I were playing one of those. But on PS3, it isn't any better than even the weaker unique armor sets.

but it is an addon after all and not part of the core game.
There are like 100 or more addons in the mod section so I figure why **** about a bad addon that was free.
I'm sure they probably made it ugly on purpose so that u would not use it since it is cheating to get really good armor @ the beginning of the game.

If that's true, well, then that's rather.. silly. They could easily have made a less powerful and better looking armour.

they made it ugly on purpose so that people would have to play the game and earn their armor.
it was a PR pre launch tactic, nothing more.

Xbox player here btw, guess it's different for each platform?
Aaaanyways, that weird champion belt is depicting a dragon mouth. Hence the 2 glowing slides on your chest.

I usually find some use for it, but it's definitely neither the prettiest nor the best armor in game.
