Just purchased the game and spent the next 22 hours non-stop playing ( I have a very understanding wife). Question is, is there any way to get the (formerly available) DLC of the stone warrior and BDA -without- paying for what was once free? I'd really love to get my hands on it for my next run through but I'm not about to spend 20$US for bonus content that was once free. The games good but not 69$US good.

It's not really ugly, I agree, it's the glowing. Looks really out of place.
It's about as out of place as the runstones frosting, electrifying, or setting your weapons on fire.
As for the armor in general, I believe it is suppose to look like that. Both blood armor sets look like they took the other's theme and mixed it with their own. Perhaps it was to get more people to buy the other game.

They should only set it on fire ect after you've taken it out.

It really is ugly... The Mass Effect version is awesome, I don't know why they didn't just go with a similar design for Dragon Age... Or they could have just ued the Human version of plate rather than the Dwarven version. Oh well...

Because they were lazy. Painted the Dwarven Plate in these circus paintings and that's pretty much all.
What really pisses me off is the fact, that they were actually arsed to make a new armor mesh for ME2. And to add insult to injury, it's the armor from those badass DA trailers Sacred Ashes and Warden's Calling. Armor that is nowhere to find in Dragon Age itself but rather in Mass Effect 2. Irony?

Actually the armor from the videos looks a bit like the Warden Commander Armor.
