Stuck at work right now, and I'm pretty sure I'm going mental. I keep chucking paper balls at the guy in the cubicle two rows down and assigning myself "points" according to where I hit him.

...Just scored a headshot. 1050.

Updating this thread because even though I'm the club president, I don't go to work for another hour and DLC came out early this time around!

So I spent 2.7 mil on PSPs, unlocked 4 URs (Harrier IV and V, Javelin II and Wraith III), maxed the two new rare weapons (Piranha and Acolyte), and unlocked all the characters except Paladin. Got a fair number of gears as well. Did a bronze match on Vancouver with my new Shadow infiltrator with Piranha X. That character is fun as hell. It was bronze so I just ran around and slashed at everything. Shadow Strike is an actual teleport and doesn't seem to have a maximum range--if I could highlight it, I could teleport to it. It didn't kill lieutenants from full shields, but a Piranha shot to the back finished them off. B) The electric slash goes through walls like Shockwave and can detonate Shadow Strike, though the animation is a bit long and leaves you vulnerable if you do it out in the open, sort of like Smash. I actually liked the Piranha, huge clip for a shotgun, good damage. And since you don't have to think about how you're going to close with the enemy with the Shadow, the accuracy never became an issue.

Vancouver is a huge and really complex level. Tons of different places to run between. Spawn points are all on the edges and are easy to predict. Ammo boxes are far apart, but the level is rather large, like I said.

Got the escort objective. You can't cloak while escorting the drone, or else it stops moving. It said things like "let me assist" so I'm not sure if it was healing the team, sending out an electrical pulse to nearby enemies or what. The drone goes to a predetermined drop that is different from the LZ. It also moves at like half the speed of a Guardian even with a couple team members on it. So slow.

Played Platinum Geth on Giant and it was insane. Multiple Primes on wave 1. Cerberus appeared on wave 3, I think. The Phantom-Prime combination is to be feared. Enemies are insanely tanky. I got a clear headshot on a Hunter with Claymore X and Shotgun Amp III and it didn't kill it. :? Prime shields regenerated faster than we could decimate them most of the time. Team wiped in wave 5.

Played on the London map after that. Interesting map, that one. Ammo boxes are in ass locations. There's a central overlook that can be easily held (maybe not against Reapers), so our Demolisher set up shop there. Reminds me of Goddess in some ways. Quite dark so can be hard to see Hunters.

Okay, just finished my breakfast so will be back on playing for an hour. Hope you workaholics enjoyed the update! B)

Stuck at work for an hour and then on the train for another hour... Plus, I've been supidly busy for the past two weeks and only saved up 700k credits so I probably have to farm all night just to get something awesome anyway. Then back up at 6:30 am for work.

This is pure torture. I hate being an adult.

bump.

Ironically, driving to work now. But will post thoughts on the new Paladin, Rio map and Acolyte pistol once I get there (let's be honest, who works at work).

Try being stuck at work and having a work function on late tonight. Talk about poor planning!

Being an adult with money earning responsibilities sucks arse Image IPB

I'm not only at work but when I get home will have to go to sleep just so I can go back to work fully revived. Then when I have enough energy I'll get to play ME3 on Wednesday night. So I still have to wait another full day :/

Yep...been working a lot lately, and between that and maintaining a social life I only had time to save about 700,000 before last night. Got some pretty bad unlocks...one of which was a Javelin upgrade (#&%@&#^%) and I'm frustrated with the Random Number Gods at the moment. I unlocked no characters so I'm currently hosting a pity party for myself before I work for 8 hours starting 3:30.

Anyways, this thread is the very definition of "first world problems." But it's okay, because I feel your guys' pain.

It's my birthday here at work. Reading the forums, seeing so many bug threads, unhappy there is no patch. New stuff looks cool.
Got free IHOP and lunch with my boss, got offered a raise, and now I go home early to see my girlfriend and play ME3 (though ME3 before girlfriend). Nice.

lol. That's right! You put her in her place!

Happy birthday by the way! :wizard::lol:B):kissing: Those are the birthday party faces I could think of...and depending on the type of party, maybe this one might also apply:

So, turns out I did in fact unlock the N7 Paladin. It was such a flurry of unlocks I must have missed him. Tried him out in a bronze game on London so I could get more of a sense of that map than I did in that Geth gold game. I still think the ammo boxes are in ass locations, though one of them (to the right of the center of the map looking from the direction you spawn) is convenient. Used the Acolyte on him.

So about Snap Freeze...if any of you played Dragon Age: Origins it's highly similar to Cone of Cold in that game. You have to line it up with the enemies in front of you. The effective range seems to be much longer than the animation. It does damage on impact, so can actually kill stuff unlike Cryo Suck. It does NOT go through walls (pretty sure about this). You can easily combo from Snap Freeze to a chain of melee attacks on the frozen or chilled enemies for hilarious results.

On the topic of the Paladin's melee--it's quite strong. It does a good amount of damage, and the animation is really quick, almost no empty frames whatsoever. There is no "heavy" melee--he just sets his shield out in front of him. When you cancel the stationary shield, he swings it out to hit nearby enemies. When you have the shield out, your feet are planted, so no moving except from side to side (you can direct the shield with the right analog stick).

Even though he has Energy Drain, I thought that without his shield up he's less resilient than all the other Sentinels. (Also no biotic powers....) He is a classic Sentinel in the sense that he's an excellent debuffer though.

Acolyte pistol took some getting used to. It's a projectile weapon that has to be charged (for too long, imo) to have any effect. At first I thought it would be like the Arc Pistol with a rapid fire mode and a charged shot mode, but no. After you've charged it long enough you can release the trigger to lob what looks like a tiny smoke bomb that leaves a comet trail at the enemy. Sometimes it erupts on impact, other times it bounces, idk why. It has an AOE so I found the most effective way to use it was to aim it at enemies' feet. I wouldn't recommend using it without something else as well (though maybe some of the Adepts might be able to go without another weapon? Not sure). I was on host but I suspect it might be less than reliable if you're off host and getting a bit of lag.

Played the Rio map with my Shadow, and I actually can't believe how gargantuan that stage is. It's easily twice the size of Giant, with a dozen or more discrete theaters in which the team can engage enemies. Lots of ammo boxes (easier to get ammo here than on the other two new maps). Got one hack location near the top of the map by the skyscraper, in what looked like a generator hub. Marauders, Cannibals and Husks spawned literally directly on top of us here (silver), so I suspect this would be a bad hack spot on gold.

A few useful facts about Shadow Strike:

1. Even though you cloak during the teleportation and are invulnerable, the time during the canned animation counts toward your shield recharge delay penalty. This means that by the time you've completed the Shadow Strike, even if your shields had been completely down when you started it, you should have shield gate back. That alone makes it highly spammable and one of the best abilities in the game, imo.

2. It cannot be activated on Swarmers (didn't get a chance to test it on Cerberus Turrets or Geth Prime Drones or Turrets). So don't worry about targeting a Ravager and accidentally using it on a Swarmer next to it. lol

3. It WILL free a teammate from a Banshee's grasp. I used it a couple times in that match to stagger her and prevent a teammate from being instakilled.

4. Activating Tactical Cloak before using Shadow Strike does not appear to do extra damage to the enemy (not 100% sure on this, so just count it as a bonus "almost" fact).

Got the pizza objective in wave 10, and the package and drop-off locations were at extreme opposite ends of the map, even diagonally. Picture the pizza objective on Giant when it shows up in the back corner of the lower control room/connection and you have to trudge back to the LZ with it. Then double that distance. :o Thankfully my team held off the enemies well enough for me to drop it off.
